RE: Craig family
Here is the info on whom I think are the parents of Missouri Johnson and if my hunches are right they would be my third great grandfathers:

Benjamin Johnson **
1810 1885

Lucretia Thomas **
1812 1880

They were in Marshall county by the 1840 census and appear to have lived there the remainder of their lives.

Missouri Johnson **
Your 2nd great grandmother
Birth abt 1832 in Alabama, USA
Death abt 1871 in Alabama, United States of America

I believe to be there oldest dau. And is in the 1850 census being married to:

James Craig
Your 2nd great grandfather
Birth abt 1830 in Illinois, United States of America
Death 5 Dec 1892 in Sebastian, Arkansas, United States

I think they lived in Marshall co. In 1850, found them again in 1866, and 1870 census.

Is there a history of Marshall County? Or any local historical resources there that might be helpful to my family research?

I would appreciate any help you could give me!!

RE: Craig family
Thank you for your efforts . . . That is what I found also. The person I'm trying to connect to is my James Craig, who was either born in Illinois or Tenn. abt 1828 -1832 and I have found a James Craig in Marshall co. In the 1850 census. I'm trying to figure out if the James Craig in that 1850 census was married to a Missouri Johnson (who must have died in Alabama) and also to which Craig family he belonged! I keep hitting brick walls. Do you live in Alabama? In or near Marshall county?

RE: Craig family
RE: Safrona Jane Craig Bearden. I noticed on the Find A Grave memorial pg that you are a descendant. Can you tell me anything abt the Craig family that Safrona was from? My mother was a Craig from OK with her father being from Arkansas and his family had come from Alabama before that. From that, all my research is inconclusive. Any help would be appreciated greatly!!
