RE: Aaron Stinson (1735-1799)
The "grave" sites for Aaron Stinson and his wife Rebecca posted on Find A Grave are bogus. The woman who posted them was bitten by the genealogy bug and the Find A Grave bug at the same time and started posting everything she had willy-nilly, whether or not she could back it up with research. I've tried contacting her, asking her to remove the pages or at least change them to "Location unknown," but she will not respond.

Aaron Stinson was my 5th great-grandfather, and my relatives and I have been over just about every square inch of Chatham County the the past 50 years -- his grave is lost. If it was [is] anywhere, it's in the Stinson Family Graveyard just outside of Goldston (see http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=cr&CRid=1987254). There are quite a number of extremely weathered fieldstone markers in that graveyard, totally illegible, so he could be any one of them.

Concerning Aaron Stinson and Polly Shelton: I have a little info on them that I got from a book that was published back in the 1980s call OUR STINSONS by Edna and Ulery Stinson. The copy I used was in the State Library of North Carolina in Raleigh, but Edna and Ulery lived in Tennessee and most of the book was about Tennessee and Kentucky Stinsons, so there might also be a copy in a library in Nashville.

What I found in the book is posted here: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~pfwilson/d0005/g0000568.html#I14596. There's other info available on Ancestry.com, which you can link to from Family Tree Maker.

After you've taken a look at that material, let me know if you still have any questions and I'll see what I can do to help you out.
