Joseph Roderick
I've seen the photo showing the GAR star now, so perhaps I'm wrong and he was a vet. But available records indicate the Joseph Roderick who served in Co. H, 20th NY Cavalry married different women and moved to California after the war, where he died and is buried.

Joseph Roderick
Ancestry research indicates the Joseph Roderick buried in Dexter Cemetery was not a Civil War veteran. That Joseph Roderick is buried in Inglewood, Los Angeles County, California.

Find a Grave/Jerry Parks
Hi Steven,
I'd like to thank you for the photo of Jerry M Parks grave site that you posted on Find A Grave. He was a very good friend of mine. Before he passed we talked but then I never heard any more news. I was left with an empty spot in my stomach. I went looking for information when he was heavy on my mind and finally came across this site. I knew his roots were in Galax and kind of assumed he would have wanted to be buried in VA and not CA. Interestingly enough I'm fairly nearby in NC now so I hope to be able to find my way and place real flowers at his grave side. I can hear him saying 'yep yep' in that funny way that he did ! Thank you so much again, it was most kind of you to place the picture. And it was a great surprise opening my email tonight to find the email notice.
Many Blessings,
Kathy Blaisdell

RE: New Photos for Henry & Susan
Okay, We will do that. I will take the individual photo off of Dr. Whitford's memorial.

RE: Whitford Grave Markers
I did a quick test and cropped Dr. Whitford and posted it. I can't say it's better than the tombstone already posted. Will delete it if you would like, after you see it.

RE: Whitford Grave Markers
Oh, boy -- I was afraid you would ask that after reviewing the photos. Normally we (my husband is the photographer) would, but thought those that were already posted were legible. I can try to crop out of the group photo, but at a glance I think the angle is wrong. We are out that way fairly often, and can certainly take the individual photos and post them. I don't want to hold things up though, if you would like to make another request for another contributor. I was surprised to see that many requests unfulfilled!

RE: Whitford
You are very welcome. Let me know if I have posted too many -- and if you would like for me to delete some (and/or I can email them to you as well). What an adorable profile picture! Loretta

RE: Taraska Grave Marker
You are very welcome.
Glad you like them. I try to never shoot or post anything I wouldn't want on my families memorials.
I am posting a few right now for Frank. I had some on but they were sort of weak. Hard to do in the shade.

Taraska request
You have the request in the wrong cemetery. Remove it from the Saint Mary OLD AND add it in the NEW one and I will take the request. I already have the photo.

Hi Steve. Thanks so much for the photo of Robert McCully. It looks great. Did you happen to take one for his wife, Emeline (115025742)? Somehow it wasn't requested. Thanks.

Shadrach was my 3rd great-grandfather. I was overwhelmed to find him on here. I've searched so much on information about my Allen family. And to see a picture was even more overwhelming. Thank you so much for allowing me to copy his picture. I have memorials on here also. Shadrach's son Barren (Who is my 2nd great-grandfather) is one I'm missing because I don't know where he is buried. But, I do have his information and a photo.

William Padgett
Thanks so much for photographing his stone. I had been looking all over for where he was buried. The two Wm Padgetts in Findagrvae are one and the same- the story and the photo. I don't know how to merge them or I would. The explanation was also good. I had finally sorted out which where his children. His wife, Mary Cissell is also buried in St Rose but apparently without a stone. She was very poor when she died. If anyone finds her stone or those of William's parents, William, Sr. and Elizabeth "Mary" Ash, I would loveto have them posted. I live on the west coast.

Thanks to all of you who help

Thank you for the photo! Simeon Lewis Jr. was my gr gr granduncle. I installed the GAR standard and the plaque there 2 years ago after researching his Civil War service.
