High Plains
Ruth B Olson in Hope Cemetery
Hi Brent -

I think Ruth just died - July 17, 2014 - and not Feb 24, 1914 as you have. Here is her obituary:

Ruth Borg Olson, 100, formerly of Argusville and Fargo, ND died July 17,2014, at the Good Samaritan Society of Arthur, ND. She was born February 24, 1914 at home near Valley City, ND to Carl Ludvig and Mary (Haugen) Borg. At age 4 they moved to Harwood, ND, where she attended rural school and Prosper High School. She graduated from Oak Grove Lutheran High School in 1932. On December 14, 1940 she married Walter Olson at Harwood. They farmed and raised registered Hereford cattle near Argusville, ND. In 1981 they moved to Fargo, where she lived until moving to Arthur in 2008. Walter died July 3, 1983.

Ruth was active in church activities at Herby Lutheran Church, Argusville and in quilting, XYZ and Mary Martha Circle at Hope Lutheran Church, Fargo. She was a WCTU member. In 1966, she and Walter started raising two foster sons.

She is survived by: her daughter Margie Martin Lee (Larry Lee), Velva, granddaughter Sarah (Steve) Lee and their Erika and James; grandson Kevin (Lori) Martin and their grandchildren Ella and Owen; step grandchildren Curtis (Suzy) Lee and their children Codee, Colten, Jonnah, and Hayden and Lori (Gene) Flaten and their children Jake and Zack; son John (Margaret) Olson, Argusville, grandson Todd (Kari Jo) and their children Olivia and Harper, grandson Travis (Andrea), and their children Alexus and Samuel; and granddaughter Kimberly Olson and her son Gavin; daughter Arlene (Bob) Peterson, Fargo, granddaughter Amanda (Trever) Hansen and grandson Grant; foster sons Bill (Mary Beth) Engelke, Arthur, grandson Andrew and granddaughter Alison (Jared) Schwanke and their children Skylar and Evelyn, and John (Beverly) Engelke, Savage, MN. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and special friends Lois and Larry Gangnes, Argusville who have been as close as family to Ruth for over fifty years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her sister Lila Johnson, her brother Edwin Borg and her son-in-law James Martin.

Ruth's family would like to extend their thanks for the loving care provided by the Good Samaritan Society of Arthur.

Memorials may be given to the Good Samaritan Society of Arthur, Herby Church Cemetery fund or as desired.

Visitation: Monday, July 22, 2014 from 5 to 7 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM at West Funeral Home, West Fargo, ND.

Funeral: Tuesday at 11 AM at Herby Lutheran Church, rural Argusville, ND.

Burial: Herby Lutheran Cemetery.

What do you think? I believe it is the memorial that you entered earlier.

Best wishes,
High Plains :)

Thanks so much for adding the photo of Roy Cameron's headstone. I hope you know how much it means to be able to see pictures of gravesites of family members whose actual graves we may never have a chance to visit.

RE: Renslands in Salem Cemetery
Hi Brent,
at this time Knut and Kari. Trying to confirm then will probably look at the rest.
I capture veterans grave information if the vet had resided in Traill or Emmons Counties at any time. So, I will review Greenwood to see if any of those vets are among my missing. I really appreciate the info in your note.

Archibald Keeler Jr
You did a memorial for my mother's brother. Can you please add his parent's info to the memorial. Grandpa Keeler is Archibald Rodman Keeler ID# 123476659 and Grandma Keeler is Magdalene M Kraemer ID# 130095910. Once you apply the ID#s his 2 bother will are Howard Keeler and Gerald Keeler.

Thank you for your assistance with this.

RE: George Hill
Did you mean more Vermont CW Veterans? I do have interest in the Vermont guys if you have more.
I started in Find A Grave when I decided to find all of the Civil War Veterans in my home county. I located 1000's of them. George Hill was both a CW and a distant cousin of mine.
Thanks, Alan
