Hi! I would love to transfer them to you. Would you like all the rest of the Rands in the same cemetery?

Thanks for the offer but not really necessary. They are know for wrong spellings from the Cheboygan courthouse. They had a lot of French speaking people in the area early on who did not speak or read English for a long time. In fact my great grandfather actually traded property between Cheboygan & St Gabrielle de Brandon,Quebec . And it was OK'd by the clerk. I have a copy of it. Crazy. So the names really got murdered. Thanks Jan

Mary Avery -- Old Pine Grove Cem.
Hi -- I found and am just now uploading your photo request for Mary Avery. Her stone is broken, fallen and hard to read, but I believe the inscription says:

Mary Avery, wife of Squire Avery
d. Jan. 13, 1858, ae 78y, 3m

You are very welcome, I know how it feels to know for sure where relatives are buried. I still can't locate my baby brother's actual grave. Stories vary as to the actual site, the cemetery, I know for sure.

Mt Carmel-William Dowling
Hi Stella-I posted the picture you requested for William Dowling. His gravesite has a large, two-sided cross with several family members on it besides William:
On the front with William---
John Dowling (Father-died Oct 19, 1942)
Mary Dowling (Mother-died Jan 30, 1933)
Rev John P Dowling (died May 26, 1992)
On the back (the stone on this side is titled HYDE DOWLING)
Julia Dowling Hyde (died Nov 16, 1979)
Francis L Hyde (died Jan 4, 1959)
Ethyl L Dowling (died Oct 10, 1969)
I took pictures of all so if you create memorial pages for these people let me know and I'll post the pictures there too.
...Mary

Thank you for the photo of my Grandmother's grave. Apparently a headstone was never put in. I asked my Dad and Uncle about the missing stone and was told if it was important to me to buy it myself. the conversations were rather curt. Neither son liked her very much. She could be cruel but I loved her non the less. She was " Grandma Walsh to me. Family lore has it she played poker in Vegas. My uncle says she ran off with a dentist to New York for 2 years and broke my grandpa's heart.

She tried to raise us with manners. I remember fondly many trips on the elevated trains and buses around the city in the 1960's. She felt it was important for kids to learn how to get around. We would ride all day:-) One hilarious memory was of her baby sitting us at our summer home in Bridgman MI. She played " Go Fish" with all of us (9 kids) and set up shot glasses with milk to toast our victories. We had candy cigarettes too. I still smile at the thought!

Norris ~ Mt Carmel
Stella ...

Thank you so much for the photos of the Norris monument at the Mt Carmel Cemetery. Your efforts are much appreciated.

I have added a Find A Grave memorial for Mary Ann Norris (spouse of Joseph norris) now that I have her dod; and I have made a photo request for the monument. If you would, please claim the request and add the photo to it.

May I have your permission to grab the photo to use in my off site family tree?

Thanks again ...

RE: Mabel Burkett/Edward Egge
Glad to help. Also if you need to, this MiGenWeb is one of 50 sites attached to the USGenWeb project. Each state has it own link. If you have other states with burials that you are interested in you might go to USGenWeb.org (I believe) and then click on the state link. I will warn you though, some of the states don't have the tombstone photo project set up like Michigan's and they can be frustrating and hard to navigate. I have a lot of photos the the Michigan site and some of the other states, but I got so frustrated with the other states that I decided to go with the Find-a-Grave people. I eventually hope to move all of my stuff over to Find A Grave. Regards -mld-

Mabel Burkett/Edward Egge
Stella,

I am trying to help you out with Mabel Burkette and Edward Egge but there may be multiple problems here.

First there are two Maplewood Cemeteries in Mackinac County. There is Maplewood Cemetery in Hudson Twp. and the Italian Maplewood Cemetery in Clark Twp.

I went to MiGenWeb.net and searched Mackinac County Cemeteries under the Photo Tombstone project. If you click on the name of a particular cemetery that is listed for the counties listed, it gives the list of who is buried in that cemetery.

Edward Egge is not listed in either the Maplewood Cemetery in Hudson Twp or the Italian Cemetery in Clark Twp. I am not saying that he is not buried there, just that he is not in the published records.

On Mabel's Memorial page you show the sign for the Italian Maplewood Cemetery in Clark Twp., however, she is listed among those buried in the Maplewood Cemetery in Hudson Twp.

I will try to get over to the Maplewood Cemetery in Hudson Twp and see if I can find her stone after first checking with the Hudson Twp Clerk.

It might not be soon, but I'll sincerely try to get there by summers end.

regards - mld

Stella,

How can I thank you enough for the great photos of the Genoar family monument, Charles & his wife Mae Ellen (who I did not know was buried next to him)and George & his wife Agnes. I updated my records and added Mae's F A G memorial and credited you in the photo caption for each photo you sent me. I really appreciate not only your photos but all the additional information you include.

Have a great day,

Hi Stella,
I am not Laura, my name is Shelley Boring, Laura transfered Henry to me a while ago. I have now transfered him to you. I think he was a distant counsin to one of my cousins. And that is how I ended up with him. Since he is your greatgrandfather, it is nice to know that he is at the right family now. Would you like the other Gauither's?

Marian France
Hi Stella,
I see that you are new at Find A Grave and let me say "welcome" to our team. You will find it beneficial to have your e-mail address on your profile page. I would use it verses placing a lengthy note on this page. No disrespect meant, but there are many rules in this site to be followed as a guideline.

One is do not create a page if the person is still alive, regardless if a headstone is present. Another rule is not to duplicate a page and then you should not ask for a transfer when the entire page is complete, such as Marian's.

Laura is the creator of the first page created 2 years before her death. Since her maiden name is not there or her last married name, I did not realize that I duplicated her. Hopefully, you enjoy the full completed page with all names on the page.

Laura is a friend of mine and I asked a favor of her to delete her page and let mine stand. That should take care of all issues.

Thanking for bringing it to our attention,
Sherri L. Czuchra
