Douglas C. Johnson
RE: Edna W. Jones
My name is Douglas C. Johnson (#47683562) and I would like to thank you for the excellent high-resolution photographs of the graves of Wade Littleton Jones, Edna Jones (nee Wilkins) and Wade Littleton Jones, Jr. at Pineview Cemetery in Pinetops, Edgecombe County, North Carolina.
If you would like to transfer them to family I would be more than happy to take care of them even though they are way outside of the Find A Grave rules. Edna is a 5th cousin, twice removed, but they are my family.
Also, was wondering if I could have your permission to use your photographs of the graves on the FamilySearch Family Tree website. I would of course list it with full credit given to you for the use of the image (if you give me a name).
Thank you very much,

Updated Paul Varnell death
Misread your inquiry as birth instead of death location. Updated his place of death as requested.

RE: Fred Phillips
There was a survey conducted by Jo Webb and Betty Reason and transcribed by Charlotte Beck of a Phillips-Harrell cemetery, but Fred Phillips' name was not on the survey. My great-great grandmother and other family members are buried there. The description of the cemetery was that it was located off Hwy. 258 in the area of Piney Woods about 6 miles from Tarboro located on a farm belonging to W. S. Clark. The farm may be owned by Sam Stronach now. I contacted him and asked if he could check to see if there is a cemetery on his land. He didn't call me back, and I haven't followed up. Pam Edmondson, the historian at the Tarboro library, contacted one of the ones who surveyed the cemetery, and they didn't remember surveying the cemetery or its location.

I did create a memorial for Fred Phillips at Greenwood but made a note that he may be buried there in an unmarked grave or that he was buried on his farm.

Thanks again for everything.

Selma Cordelia Phillips Webb Abrams, Memorial #129566885
Selma's father was the brother of my great grandfather, George Washington Phillips. The reason I asked for a change to show her last name as Webb Abrams is because that is what is shown on her tombstone. But I don't have a problem if you don't change it. I just wanted to let you know the reason that I asked for the change.

I also added the marriage year of 1955 for Selma P. Webb to James F. Abrams as an edit. They were married August 7, 1955 in Edgecombe County, NC.

Thank you for all the photos and the memorials you have added.

Phillips-Bradley-Johnson Plot, Greenwood Cemetery, Tarboro, NC
Thank you for adding photos of the graves for the Phillips' family members who are buried in Section A-66 of Greenwood Cemetery. Georgia Ann Harris Phillips Bradley was the second wife of my great-great grandfather, Fred Phillips. Can you tell me the names of the Johnson's, if any, who might be buried in this plot whose last name is included on the headstone? Georgia's daughter by her first marriage, Mary Frances Vick, married Arthur Johnson, but they are shown as being buried in Virginia. Maybe their names were included on the headstone when it was installed but decided to be buried elsewhere.

Also, do you remember if there was a blank area with no grave marker near Georgia's grave? My great-great grandfather died in 1932 and was buried in Tarboro but no location was listed. He was either buried at Greenwood or on his farm. The funeral home who handled his arrangements has no further information other than that he was buried in Tarboro, NC.

Thank you.

Thank you for the compliment. My wife is from the area, has some Alderman blood in her, but she was a Byrd.

Thanks so much for the information. He is not close family but was researching him and looked at death certificate. When I did not find him there already I wondered if a mistake had been made on death certificate.
Thanks so much for letting me know he does have a marker there and for taking a photo of it.
