A review of the memorial indicated an incorrect date. This matter has been corrected. Thank you for bringing this information to my attention.

Best regards

Ruby Family
Hi, I'm sorry but don't think they are in Shewmaker Family Cemetery , this cemetery is listed in the Washington Co, KY cemetery book, which was printed several ago, and it doesn't list them, just the John & Lucy Ruby. It doesn't have the other cemetery (Peters / Mackville) in it to check and see. Sorry, not much help.

P. S. Find A Grave frowns on adding memorials that you don't know where they are buried, (no name cemeteries). When someone else finds the graves and adds them, then they become duplicates, and Find A Grave says no duplicates, so basically they get deleted or merged. They say don't add a memorial, just to be able to link family to, unless you know where they are buried. The no name cemetery deal is only for new burials, until you know the cemetery preferably in 30 days or less, and for cremations, etc. Just a heads up on that.

Good Luck

You're very welcome. I requested an edit on her memorial - I added where she was born & where she died. It'll take a few days before you see this info.

Unfortunately, I live in the state of Washington and photographed the stones in Woodlawn when I was back visiting the area a couple years ago. Wish I could help, but don't have any plans to be in Lovilia.

Forgot to tell you that I work 3rd shift & fell asleep after I sent you a quick email that didn't make it to you probably because of all the recent storms. The email boomeranged right back to me. Sorry

RE: More Photos
I've gone a long ways before but usually keep it within a 100 miles or so, just depends on how many requests the cemetery has in it or in the area.
At the moment I have been working in Woodford, Livingston, McLean, Peoria (of course), Dewitt, & Macon Counties.

Hi Linda,
As you look at the Hart family photo John is on the left side & as you go to the right there is:
Leroy C. 1880-1943,
Belle E. 1858-1930,
Joseph 1852-1922

Hope this helps, any questions pls. don't hesitate to ask!!!

No ideal what Sp stands for but I have a map of the cemetery & it is a long rectangular shaped section that on the north end is sec. C (older stones) & about 3/4 of it is SP which is the newer section (90's, 2000's.) sec M is the next section over to the west.

You are soooooo welcome, glad I could help.
Sorry to say but she was buried by herself, I did not see any family members in the area, she also was buried in "SP" just in case you want to change it :)
I'm generally in Princeville cemetery a couple times a month & will let you know if I do find some of her family.

RE: Conrad Burns
the only Burns graves I can find are in Connelly Springs. There is a Burns Family Cemetery.. but I have yet to see it with my own eyes. I have some recent directions. It appears to be just off Miller Mill Rd.. on a hillside behind a farm. I have searched everywhere EXCEPT this particular area. And right now I am a bit leery of heading out there as the snakes will be coming out. UGH There are 50 or so "stones" left. I have pics of some of the ones that were still actual headstones, before they too disappeared. Seems some of the locals carried the headstones off to use on their STILL. Makes me mad. I can send you pics of the ones I have, if you'd like. There is only about 4 or 5 of them. Elizabeth,a couple of Martins, George, maybe one more.

Here is a link to another Civil War/Navy vet buried here in Chester, but in another cemetery. This man was a friend of Abraham Lincoln.

Yes. I believe it was a naval battle at Ft. Sumter that started the civil war.

I ran by the cemetery and cleaned the stone. It says US NAVY under his name. I added a new photo as well. He is buried along side several other civil war veterans.
