Jesse Shuman parents
Another researcher also had a tree with Dewey Gressum Shuman as Jesse's dad. His findagrave# is 74710349. He and wife Sallie Irene Campbell are buried in Clito Cemetery Bulloch Co.
The said Jesse was Jesse Freddie Lee Shuman
I learned Jesse's sibling info if you don't have:

Nellie 1918 to?
Della 1921-1965
Josie Helen 1928-1998 married Omas Morris (1926-2011)they divorced and she died Toms Brook, VA
Joann 1946 to?

This info from a Morris relative

I just left this message for Nu2Ga

I just saw your Shuman message and was interested since my family was members of the same church.
I found a birth record same dob stating he was born while residing at 2897 New York St., Cloud Lake FL. Also in 1940 on the census, there is a 3 yr old Jesse Shuman in the Dover Community of Scriven Co GA whose parents are Dewey S and Sally Shuman 40 and 39 years old respectively. Siblings were Della, Dewey and Helen, all older. I can't verify that it is his family but sounds possible since Scriven is close to Bulloch.
This was from ancestry.com

RE: Found My Dad
Thanks so much for the wonderful message. Often people ask why in the world I spend so much time in cemeteries. Now I have a great story to tell them.

Google Earth has the church address as 7198 Harville Road, Statesboro. But the map definitely doesn't take you to the right location. If you follow Harville Road on up to where it intersects Langston Chapel Road - the church sits right there in the "V" created by the intersection of those two roads.

In addition to the pictures, I also post a lot of obituaries. Next time I'm at the Statesboro Library - I'll check to see if they have one for your father.

Good Luck with your research.
