Marie Sophia Kohlmeyer Blattner
Would it be possible for you to add a full size photo for the grave of Marie Sophia Kohlmeyer Blattner? The one on Findagrave is too small to read. Thanks.

RE: Batzner's tombstone - Calvary, Milwaukee
There is a 4th buried in the plot with not tombstone or text. Lester Voell, Jr. Died Dec 1921
# 152967197.
I would say a grandson. I have a number of grandchildren buried with their grandparents (my great grandparents), seen that with other families too.

Batzner's tombstone - Calvary, Milwaukee
On the east side is Henry 1893-Jan 1923 # 141506009

The death dates on Gotfried and Mary Batzner are 95% the burials dates. Calvary online information list both the death and burial dates as the same. 95% of the time it the burial date.

All my early relatives are buried there and they are all burial dates.

RE: Betty Bayer
Did you find Myrtle in Alton area? I just did. Haven't found Clarence yet. You might want to update obit with his full name. didn't realize I hadn't done that. Sorry

RE: Betty Bayer
I know that she was from Sedalia MO, but an Alton connection sticks in my head (maybe a sister lived there) and that her father died before I was born or at least I don't remember him. BJ was my uncle's wife. daughter of Clarence Monroe JACKSON and Myrtle Adel DILLMAN (marriage license shows Myrtle A Meredith, George Meredith was 1st husband ). I know there is a niece in Edwardsville, but don't remember her name at the moment, but I can't get the info if you want to pursue that avenue.
Sorry I can't be more helpful. Her mother was Laura Marie Hardwick and lived in Alton.
Rambling sorry.

RE: Charles Barth

Yes that does seem likely, but now I noticed there is a note that says NO STONE on his memorial. I had a database crash a few days ago and I am having trouble finding what I sent to you. But I believe that is correct. I had a death date of 1885 but his memorial says 1889.

RE: Ripley, Brown Co.
Oh Boy! Are you up for a challenge?

I know there was a Jesse Hamlin (possibly two) who died in Ripley:

U.S. Federal Census Mortality Schedule-1850
Name: Jesse Hamlin
Marital Status: Married
Estimated birth year: abt 1810
Age: 40
Death Date: April 1850
Cause of Death: Consumption
Census Year: 1850
Census Place: Township 1, Brown, Illinois

I did look at the original mortality schedule image to verify it says the same thing as the indexed info and it does.

I also have copies of probate records of a Jesse Hamlin who died in/near Ripley, on or about 28 May 1850. It says how much it cost to make his coffin, but unfortunately not where the coffin went, so I don't know what cemetery Jesse(s) is buried at, but I'm guessing Ripley, since we know he lived there. I know the chances are slim of finding a headstone from 1850, but would really like to know if there's a Jesse at Ripley Cemetery or any Hamlin for that matter. Might be one of those hard to read, hasn't been identified yet stones.

Of all the Ripley memorials that are posted, Jesse might be buried near Martha [Tompkins] Rouse 10541873, but that's a guess.

Hope there's something here to work with. Thanks for your interest.

RE: Nancy Glenn
I know it always breaks my heart. I really think Nancy had one of the small stones. I didn't have a screw driver on me or I would have checked. I'll be going back over there soon. I'll take one and see. It will only have her initials on it but it would still be nice to know it's marked. The cemetery is beautiful and very old.
