Kerk Hof
Hi Julie

I see that Kerk Hof and Van Wagenen have been combined! I don't know if you are responsible but thank you if you are. Now we just have to try to get the word "Cemetery" off the name of the cemetery.

I was recently up there and a friend took some photos. I'd be happy share with you if you like.

Elenor Van Etten
Thanks for your help on clarifying the history of this family. I used your information and found more on this family in this source: Documentary History of Rhinebeck in Duchess County NY (free download). The names and dates are clearly recorded on pages 41 and 42. I changed the transcription error on Elenor's dates on her memorial and accepted your other changes. So all your edits have been approved and I will credit you with the research contributions. Let me know if there are other improvements we can make on these memorials.

RE your edit request adding Elenor b 1696 as her mother and Matthew b 1722 as her father. That couple looks like they were different generations. Do you have some references for this union?

Thank you

I would gladly transfer your brother, but the number you gave me (Susan A Pennington)42767813 belongs to come one else.

Please recheck the number and we will try again.

Jacob Hartman
Hi, Julie
I approved Johann George Bressler as the father of Elizabeth Hartman. For the parents of Jacob Hartman (my 4th g-grandfather) the Hans Herr Genealogy list his parents as Heinrich (Henry) 1735-1830 and Anna Herr 1851-1853. The dates donít match. Do you have anything showing that this Heinrich and Anna are the correct parents?

Thanks for the heads-up. I deleted my memorial, as it was the newer one.

Woodstock Cemetery
I think that I had connected William as the husband instead of son. I looked for an obit but could not find one. The names on the map do not exactly match the names on some of the headstones. Not sure if it is the map maker or the headstone that is correct. So, I used both as written.

I have a map of the front part of Woodstock Cemetery (the older sections). When I was there, the caretaker let me take a copy to the local copy center and have a copy made. I do not have a copy of the newer sections. It is helpful to have a map.

The oldest section on the hill is not the most accurate. I have given the caretaker an excel list of names for the plots. He only had numbers on the map for most of the older plots. It is not one hundred percent accurate - missing headstones, numbers out of sink withe the plots listed, etc. (Lots of my ancestors are buried in the old section. Which is why I keep coming back! There is always more to add to my family tree.)

I will look at the headstone the next time that I go to Woodstock. I always have a list of sites to take another photo. Sometimes the sunlight is not cooperative, but I live hours from Woodstock and can't pick the conditions!

There is the whole new section in the back of the cemetery that I have not completed. I am sure that is where most of the photo requests are. Hopefully, I can spend a weekend there sometime in the next couple of months.

I've never actually been to upstate NY. It would be great to see it some time and visit where my (our)Dutch ancestors lived. Must be a lot of descendants such as yourself still living in the area which is quite amazing given a few hundred years have passed.

So take a look at her memorial to see if I made the suggeted corrections the right way. Please let me know if there is anything else I can add or correct.

Have a great day,

Robert in San Diego, CA

It does appear to be the same. However, it does not have a cemetery, which is most helpful.
