RE: need some information
Daniel, I don't know what to make of it. I found Katie and Edward living in one census with an aunt and uncle. And a lot of these relatives were Native American Indian. If they were dark at all they were listed in the census as Black or Mulatto. I've corrected the ones I'm sure of. I can't solve this one yet. N.

Yes, I know. She is black, possibly employed in the household. I found her in the next census with her husband and child, all black. My family is Caucasian.

Della O. Byrd married Earnest Kling in 1877, but they divorced. She was born 15 Dec 1876 in Corinth MS. Della died 5 Jan 1973 in San Marcos, Hays County, TX.

Bell A. Byrd was born 1873 in Alabama and died 8 Sept 1893 in Evergreen, Conecuh County, AL.

The Katie S, D, Byrd I found was a black lady, my family is white and I don't believe they would have named two children Katie. Perhaps she was a house maid. She's shown in later censuses married to a black gentleman with black children.

I haven't fount Della or Bell's burial sites as yet.

Mary C Rayburn birth year...
I went to Ancestry and ran the Census records on Mary and James Rayburn. In the 1880, 1900, 1910, 1920 and 1930 Census records she shows her birth state as Arkansas and her age in each Census is 25, 44, 55, 64 and 75 respectively. That would be a birthyear of 1855 or 1856. So her marker is correct. I also found a record of marriage in 1873, and her maiden name was Garvin. We may be talking about two different people.

RE: need some information
I have Katie's birth certificate and my dates are correct. You are talking about older research that I'm not currently working on, and it's put away in my bank vault at this time. You'll just need to research these names you're inquiring about that go further back.

I recall several named Bell(e) and many Mary's but I'm working on my father's family currently in 1666 and can't stop my research in the middle; it gets me off "the trail". The Byrd family is huge and I can't put my hands on what you're asking about though I don't really understand some of your questions as some words are left out, etc.

RE: need some information
I'm sorry but your questions don't make sense to me as Katie CAN NOT show up on an 1880 census as she was not born until 1914. There is a Klingon, not a King. Your questions are not clear to me. I'm assuming you know how to do the research on Ancestry and Family Search?

Parents:
Monroe Washington Byrd (1845 - 1937)
Lucy Parlee Rayburn Byrd (1878 - 1941)

Siblings:
Mary Frances Byrd Smith (1867 - 1949)**
Joseph S. Byrd (1869 - 1959)**
Della A. Byrd Kling (1876 - 1973)**
Edward Walter Byrd (1879 - 1944)**
Paul Barnard Byrd (1906 - 1972)*
Clester Monroe Byrd (1908 - 1985)*
Katie Mae Byrd Peters (1914 - 1985)

The information above is correct. Peters is a second marriage for Katie and Andrew John Whitten was her first husband who remarried after Katie more than once.

Best of luck with your research.

RE: need some information
Katie Mae was born in Arp, Smith County, Texas. I don't know how Katie or Mary Frances could show up in an 1880 census as neither of them was born at that time. Of course, names were used repeatedly but I don't believe these two were as I don't recall seeing those exact names. They were the daughters of my GG Uncle Monroe Washington Byrd and wife Lucy Rayburn Byrd. N

Mary Catherine Rayburn...
I got your message about Mary Catherine Rayburn in Old Dallas Cemetery. I looked at the picture of the marker and under the lichen it is clearly 1856. I did add Illinois for a birth state. Do you have something else on the actual date for verification?

I am not sure who Laura Willie or Dustin Porier are because I am not kin to the family. I did see on Ancestry.com who Leonard's parents are, however. The names were posted by someone named Gary Decker. But I don't know who Gary is either, so hopefully he knows for sure.
