RE: Photo Request - Stapelman
Posted...that particular marker was knocked off its foundation and turned over. I had the maintenance staff flip it over for me. And they are going to re-seat it along with a marker for one of my relatives nearby.

Actually, it's easier to read the part that was face down in the dirt - more contrast to the stone!

Once they re-seat it, I'll go back and take another photo because I'm not sure if there's a name above "Marie Burke" or it just says "mother".

This kind of stuff is fun for me! Glad I can help.

RE: Photo Request - Stapelman
Hi Phil,
I was at Old Holy Cross Cemetery this morning to look for the Stapleman graves. It appears that there is a family plot with Veronica Goetz Stapleman on the left end, an old illegible marker, a blank space (possibly an unmarked grave), and then a marker for Theresa L & August M Stapleman on the right end. There were three more markers to the right of that, Marie Burke (very weathered and fallen over) and two that are illegible except for a calligraphy "S" on the edge

I will talk to Celeste at the cemetery office and see if she can identify the the illegible markers by using the ones I could read.

I'll keep you posted.

Photo Request - Stapelman

I would be happy to take the photos of Anna and William Stapelman in Racine, WI if you would please contact the cemetery office to get plot numbers.

Racine Catholic Cemeteries

Once you get the plot numbers, reply to this message with them and I'll claim the request.

RE: Alice Rhude
Do you think she would be willing to send us better copies? The ones she sent my mom in 1976 are not very clear. I would like to pass them all on to my family.

RE: Alice Rhude
My aunt, her kids, and some cousins from my dads side are in Eau Claire. Myrtles other 4 kids all moved away to MN, Ill, and SD so not a lot. Most are in other parts of Wisc and surrounding states, though.

RE: Alice Rhude
My older brothers and sisters remember your grandmother and great grandmother. Your Aunt sent all the family pics to my mom back in the 70s, and 80s. If you are the one that posted the wedding pic, thanks. That's my grandma standing behind Alice.

Alice Rhude
I see you took over Alice Rhude Sorenson's records. She is my grandmother's sister. Are you related to her?

RE: Union Cemetery Question
I could not find Martin Burke or John Burns in the records for Union Cemetery. There was also no Mary Ann under either last name. Are you sure that they are there? The record for Clara Haase has a burial date of 6/30/1954. It does not give the death date.

RE: Union Cemetery Question
The burial records for Union Cemetery are kept at Graceland Cemetery, which is right across the street from where I work. Do you have any names that you are looking for?

Lenore Weir Schuett
# 85784122 is the other half of the doublestone with Arthur # 85784121. If you would please add it to her memorial. I pressed the photo request button a moment ago so it should come thru to you.

Marx Naeve
They are "one and the same", Phil, in a manner of speaking, except there never was a Mary Naeve Shuett. Or a Marx (Naeve) Shuett. Nor did he have a twin.

Just Marx Naeve, father of Ella Naeve; father-in-law of Arthur Schuett, who happens to be buried in the Schuett plot :) Ya gotta look at his stone again and it begins to make sense...

Please put the stone back on Marx's Memorial # 114417153 and I will ask Bonita to delete that mistaken one she inherited with all the Swiss Church Memorials. It was just an easy couple of mistakes to make in surveying a cemetery.

And thank you so very much for taking the family photos and solving this mystery.

RE: Engebreth Sorenson
I should have looked at your memorials before I visited Barum Cemetery & learned the relationships. I may have the other sides of the monument photographed. I will post them if I find them. Mary

RE: Nona Harrington
Nona Harrington was my grandmother, would you be willing to transfer her memorial # 85120908 to me?

Thank you kindly,
Phil Rude

Hello Phil,
This memorial was transferred to me and the original poster has since passed. There's no way for me to transfer currently. I'll have to contact the Admins and see what they can do. Be patient.
