Old Plateau/Africa Town Cemetery
From what we remember, the day we were there the maintenance people where also there cutting grass. We remember taking some photos of the overall cemetery and we seem to remember taking some photos of a couple of the graves themselves. We seem to recall one of the men cutting the grass pointed us to the north east section of the cemetery, telling us the last slave brought in to Mobile was buried in that section. We looked but whether or not we found the grave and took the photo of it, we don't remember. The graves we did take photos of would have been on the north portion of the cemetery. We don't think we started the cemetery page but may have added a couple memorial pages for people. Is there something we might be able to help you with?

Lovelace relative
My paternal great grandfather's (William Zackaria "Zack" Chambless) sister was M. Della Lovelace # 30950813 according to Find A Grave. Found it interesting and wanted to say hello. Any family photos to share? Thank you.

All of the pictures I took were of small monuments in a row. There was one that had fallen off of it's base and is face down, so I could not read at that time.....Kay

RE: Becker duplicate records
Thank you for taking care of this. And from what I understand, you can barely tell where one cemetery begins and the other one ends.

I am happy that you take the time and effort to do this for all of us that live so far away.

Again, thank you,

You're very welcome. Are you any relation to the Zimmersheads? They were family friends; their daughter Jennie Graham was my mother's best friend's mom.

Thank you so much!!!

Thank you for the photo of my great grandparent's grave markers. It is a comfort to know that they are "Asleep In Jesus". I will take my mother to visit them. I know she will be very grateful to you for locating them and providing the directions.
