Sheila, he is listed on page 44 of the Huron County, Ohio Cem Inscription book, Clarksfield Methodist Cem, Clarksfield Township

Stone 13, BROUGHTON, J.W. (1837-1886) GAR 15th Ohio Batt'y Inf

The remainder of the information I looked up on Ancestry to try to fill in dates etc.

PS: I am assuming since he is related the other Broughton's in the Cem book would be related also. They are:
Arthur H., Cora A., Donal E., GW, George W., Harry E., Helen Hosmer, Lyman J., Mina J Morgan, Retta Meyer Hopkins, Smith and Walter G. If you need any info on any of them, let me know. Barb

Sheila, transfer made. I like to check people out before I transfer. You met my criteria. I have had many people ask for transfers of people who are not related, and this I will do if they transfer as freely as you and I. But many who ask, have put right in their bio that they will only transfer per Find A Grave rules. Oh Well - too bad. They are the one's who are in it for the numbers. Anyway, if you find any more people who are related to you and you would like them, just ask, I will be more than happy to transfer. They would be related to you and probably not to me. Barb

Hi, yes... I remember we were in contact some months ago. The Schibley's are related through our Sabiers, Wilker and Barris relatives. Hope all is well.

Sarah Miller Sanders
Sarah is my first cousin, 4x removed. Her grandparents, John and Anna (Ransom) Miller are my 4th great grandparents. Yes, I take photos in the Lorain and Erie County areas. I believe you can add pictures to profiles yourself. Photos of the person are OK by me. Feel free to contact me any time. Always love to collaborate with other researchers!

Done. I've deleted the memorial I had entered at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Ed and I graduated from Amherst High School together - sorry about the mix-up.

RE: Ellen Lyons O'Keefe
Sheila,

For my research I often use Ancestry.com, familysearch.org, findagrave and usgenweb.org.

With usgenweb.org click on OH--counties--Lorain--county links--Lorain County Probate Court on line search then type in the name. It'll show estates, marriages and other things. If you can, you really should go to the probate office on the 6th floor and view the microfilms. If that isn't possible, for a fee, someone can search, print and mail the documents to you.

Linda

PS-I transferred the O'Keefe's to you as they are from your family.

One last place to try is the Lorain County Courthouse (440-329-5175). I did a quick look from OH USGenweb site (go to counties, click on Lorain then county links and the probate site) and found a Daniel & Ellen O'Keefe for estates. They could be your family and the records may give you more information. It's worth a try.

Have you tried getting a death certificate. Maybe it would list the birth place other than Ireland.

Also, you could try the Lorain Public Library on 6th St, Lorain, OH (440-244-1192) and see if there was an obit for Daniel (19 Oct 1901) and Ellen (29 Jan 1920).

If not, then a slim chance is Calvary/St. Mary Cemetery (440-233-5117) or the Elyria Public Library on Washington St in Elyria (440-323-5747)

RE: Ellen Lyons O'Keefe
Hi Shelia,

I really can't help you with the O'Keefe family. I was at St. Mary's cemetery taking photos of my great great grandparents headstones and took the O'Keefe's as they were by my family. Also, I have taken photos for a Rich O'Keefe and thought maybe they were his family. Check out those memorials from St. Peters' in North RIdgeville, OH until you find one he has posted, You could contact him to see if he has connection with Daniel, Ellen & Thomas O'Keefe in St. Mary Cemetery in Elyria.
