RE: Mary P Ross
Wanted to let you know that I wasn't able to get to the library on Monday - snowstorm cancelled my meeting. But I might be going there on Thursday and I'll get the obit then.

No problem. Glad to help. I'm not sure if I have this obituary, but I'm going to the library tomorrow afternoon, so I'll get it then.

RE: William Ross
So sorry! I missed your email until this morning.

I do have the obituaries for William S. Ross, Jr. and Sr. I just started classes again for this semester but I will try to find them this weekend.

I decided a few years ago to try and recover an obituary for every person buried in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Greenland. It has turned into quite a project as many of the older records don't exist anymore and many graves don't have markers. So I'm not really sure how many are buried in the cemetery but I just add as I come across them. I hope to eventually add the obituary information to the findagrave site but right now I just don't have the time.

I'm abt. to send you (2) Scans of the Obituary write-up for William Steven {Stephen} Ross. Middle name Steven is mentioned on the Death Certificate and Stephen is mentioned in the Gladwin County Record write-up both shows he was buried in Beaverton. Beaverton, MI basically only has the Arbutus Cemetery, Beaverton City Cemetery or Dale/Tobacco Twp., Cemetery in its closest region. Other's are in Gladwin side of County.

Just a quick note... My friend found a William Steven {Stephen} Ross on www.seekingmichigan.org and also based on his death date of March 25th, 1899. I was also able to find a write-up regarding his death in the Gladwin County Record Newspaper. His certificate of Death notes his father was a Andrew Ross though no mention of mother name? He was the Parent of 7 children and was born in Canada. Seems theirs no Marker or Headstone found in the Cemetery. Though, the Beaverton City Hall did show a William Ross buried their.

You're quite welcome. I see I don't have his birth and death locations. I better go looking for them, or do you want me to transfer him to you? Janine

Hi - I wish I could help you more with William Ross but, unfortunately, I don't have any other info on him. I work at the Ann Arbor District Library's archives and often post old obits I find when they match names/dates on Find A Grave. Washtenaw County has death certificates dating back to 1867 so you could request a copy of William's certificate and see if it answers your questions. Look here for info: https://secure.ewashtenaw.org/ecommerce/vitalrecord/vrHome.do
Good luck with your search! Hope this helps, Darla

Re: William Stephen Ross. I was just reviewing my Ancestry tree. Called the LMCB the big tree. Note: Perhaps I might have your William?

Could he perhaps tie in with a George Ross & Margaret Gunn. George Ross (1791-1851) Margaret (1795-1882) Note: I show this couple had a child named William born abt. 1819 in Coillough, Scotland.

I have a huge Ancestry tree of almost 143,000 names connected. If interested in an Invitation to it... Please email me at: tomdladner@yahoo.com their's a few more William Ross I have also. Though, this one makes the most sense/possibilities.

It's been over a decade since, I've walked the Beaverton City Cemetery & not 100% sure if I now have a Static memorial created. Please, contact the Beaverton City Hall, in Beaverton, MI. and have them search their Roladex of Burial Cards. City Clerk is Dana # 989-435-9343. Note: I've searched the Gladwin County Source Records for a William Ross. Only one listed is William F. Ross buried in Cherry Grove Cemetery.

My mother's friend is a Ross member from the line of descendants of: Donald Gunn Ross & Rebecca Fraser. Note: Our town of Beaverton took it's name from Beaverton, Ontario, Canada. {Who ran Ross mills} etc.

Maybe we have a Ross individual here! needing to be connected... Sorry! I couldn't provide any additional help. I might need to delete this memorial...
