It was a beautiful day to be out! The condition of this cemetery was pretty bad--overgrown and fallen trees. I tried to dig with a stick as far down as I could to expose a date. I needed a shovel and something to clean the stone off. If you need to confirm a date, I'll be glad to go back out. Most of the stones in this cemetery looked similar; many had only death dates, no birth dates. - JV

|Kris Abelli||RE: Hubert Knee|
As I noted on his memorial page and on the photo captions, Hubert Knee has no marker. I placed the flowers to indicate his burial location for the photos.

|Loneta Boyer||thank you|
Thank you for your efforts to find the grave of Benjamin Starr and posting a photo of the cemetery and the likely area where he is buried. He is probably buried near family, other Starrs. I have found this in other cemeteries , so many could not afford a marker and their graves have been lost. Thanks so much for your efforts--Loneta Boyer

It breaks my heart to go over there. She would've been 16. There's not a day goes by that I wonder what she'd be like today.

|Roy Fredrick||Kasia Knee|
Thanks Jennifer. Yes, I am related and I have the Family Bible of the Rea's and it is spelled as KASIA with no H attached. The S kinda of looks like a Z but it was the style of an S by the Rea who wrote the name.
I will check the original 1901 in Pittsburg Kansas. Kasia (Wilcox) Knee was born in 1841 in Oklahoma.

Jennifer, Do you know Linda in Fl, or Nadine in PA. They are descended from Earl and (Ida) Pearl respectively. I am descended from T.T. Adams second wife, but i have been in contact with them and others via e-mail. Would you like Linda and Nadines e-mail?

Would you mind my using your picture of Ina Velle in my family tree? My grandmother was an O'Kelley and we are related.

|Douglas Day||Alan Hinton|
The extra marker is Ruth Hinton. Her marker which is a flat one, is standing up directly behind Alan's which is flat on the ground. In her picture the wooden memorial piece for him is over the Service Marker that I did not find until later. It was completely covered with pine needles.

The West headstone wasn't uploaded by mistake. If you view the picture of the full plot, it is one of the other headstones in the plot.

|Debbie Shirley||RE: Shirley|
Thanks for adding what you found. I did however find one of your additions in my memorials. Dewey Everette Shirley.. your #130325466 is duplicate of mine #79342896. It would be nice if you would add the memorial pic to my memorial. I know I can 'save' pic and add it myself, but I'd like to give credit where credit is due. Again, you completed another memorial for me. Question: Do you know how to get memorials removed from 'virtual memorial'. I know when I've done some searching in 'begin new search' and have no memorial appear, but I end up having the memorial???
Thanks again for your service!!!

Thank you so much for taking the photo of my great grandparents memorial. I do wish I could have known them! My genealogy research is slow - but it is little tidbits like this that give me hope for a glance into the past.
May God Bless You,

No, I'm not related. I post stuff like that as I come across it, is all. If you click on the article, it will open and display the date/source in the caption below. I dont know if many people know you can click on the photos and articles and get captions.
I do not know if the killer was convicted, but if I come across that information, I will post it, and alert you if I can remember. It may be months before I find it, if I do.
You might search in the Charleston paper for the story-look at the same days and the days before and after. You'll have to pretty much scan the pages column by column but it's not as hard and tedious as it sounds-can be very interesting!
