Interment vs Internment
I noticed in your biography you used the word "internment" several times. The word you should be using is actually interment without an N. Interment is burial while Internment is the imprisonment or confinement of people, commonly in large groups, without trial, often in internment camps or concentration camps. During the world wars we put Asian folks in internment camps here but there was no interment unless they happened to die while in internment. Both words have distinct and specific definitions and aren't interchangeable.

Nancy Howell Freeman
Isaac & Nancy Neff
I have just recently found out my GGparents were Isaac & Nancy Neff. I can't find out any information on them to document the Nancy Neff info and can't find the year or where Isaac was buried. Isaac & Nancy born mid 1850's had 7 or 8 children. My GM was the youngest. She told me her oldest brother was Lee Neff. My GM was born 22 Nov 1895. Did not know her last name was Neff we were told O'Brien. She told me her father was killed when a tree fell on him when she was 11 yrs old. My GM and parents were born in Ky. I have looked for this side of the family for years and years with absolutely no luck at all until a cousin just up and told me the reason was because her last name wasn't O'Brien but Neff.
We knew my GM name as Mary Louise O'Brien. Her name was changed by a Catholic home for girls where she stayed until she was 18. Not even sure about the real first and middle name. I would appreciate anyone who possibly give me a direction to look. My name is Nancy Howell Freeman my e-mail is freeman88@att.net

Neff News
Hi! I was walking through the Rose Hill Cemetery in Hagerstown Maryland and looking for my Snyder relatives the other night when I happened to come across Magdalena, John and Eliza Neff's gravesite. That got me to do some research and I was quickly able to find they are relatives (parents and grandmother) to my great grandmother, Annie Neff Snyder Houpt. Thank you so much for all of your work! I saw a few copies of the Neff News in the Neff family file at the Washington County Historical Society. What great work you have done! Thanks so much!

RE: Charles Lafayette Wilson Neff aka Charles Lafayette Wilson
Hi Bill, very interesting indeed. I think you made the right call by having 2 memorials.

I added Charles's pension info to my memorial. Sarah is listed as Sallie Neff.

I will check the Springdale records for the missing daughter Mary F.

I have several Neff memorials in Cass County, Illinois, Chandlerville Cemetery. Let me know if you have any interest in them.

Thanks again, Debra

Joshua Bates
Sadie Neff
Greetings! My name is Joshua Bates and I am a descendant of Sadie Neff and David Ross. I am unable to find any information beyond Sadie and I am interested in getting further information about her and her line. This is all that I have thus far:

B: unknown

D: 27 February 1913 Scribner, Nebraska

She and David had a daughter named Letha G. Ross who was my 2nd great grandmother.

I have a birth date and place but I am not sure that it is correct. It is listed as 5 May 1860 Chicago, IL. Again, I'm not convinced that it is correct but I thought I would include it just in case it might help.

Thank you for your help!

Joshua Bates.

Udates are completed. The county lines did change in Wisconsin. Bad Axe County was a large underpopulated area for some time. It was divided into several smaller counties, including Vernon.

RE: Neff - Kagey Cemetery
You are welcome. Any others you'd like, just let me know. I really have just a few Kagey's who were related to the Lloyds and that is how I happened to start adding them. If I had my way, the entire cemeteries would be listed. Stars & Bars and JAC helped me out a great deal.
Happy New Year.
