You might try the Old Fulton NY Post Cards site (http://fultonhistory.com/Fulton.html). It has many NY newspapers online and you might get lucky.

Lori,

All I have is the information on the gravestone. I add the memorials by taking pictures in the cemeteries.

Regards,
Paul

Samuel Garland's obit
I saw where you requested a photo for his stone...and there was already one on the memorial. I also saw that your comment wanted more information...so I did some research as well and here is his obit. ( I did remove the photo request as it already is there.)

Kentucky New Era obit posted 6/22/1953 reads as follows:

SAMUEL T. GARLAND FUNERAL HELD TODAY

Cadiz, Ky., June 22 (Spl.) - Funeral services were to be conducted at 2pm today at Goodwin Funeral Home here for Samuel T. Garland, age 79, retired merchant of the Montgomery community. Mr. Garland died Saturday at Trigg County Hospital after a week's illness.

The Rev. J.J. Jenkins, Baptist minister, was to officiate at the last rites and burial was scheduled to take place at the Robinson Cemetery at Montgomery.

A native of Stewart County, Tennessee, Mr. Garland was born Jan. 23. 1874, and was the son of Jesse and Elizabeth Hicks Garland. On Jan 12, 1896, he was married to Cora Hicks, who with four of their seven children survives.

He leaves three sons, Roy and Artell Garland, of Trigg County and Lorry T. Garland of Mantino, Ill., and a daughter, Mrs. Guy Vinson of San Francisco. He is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Zona Castleberry of Murray, 21 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Your Great Grands & More
Ok, here is what I have found for you Lori....

James Alexander Henderson born 29 Mar 1888 in Clinton, Hickman, Kentucky. died 1 Oct 1960 in Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, California.

His parents were Benjamin Fowler Henderson 1852-1939 & Ada Walgamot 1865-1941 both can be found on here memorial #'s 111799266 & #111829386 respectively.

James Alexander & Nancy "Nannie" Buhler were married in 1907.

Nancy Buhler born 13 Apr 1889 in Clinton as well. Died 27 July 1965 in Hollywood, Los Angeles County, California.

Her parents were Stephen Buhler and Laura Franklin. I didn't find their dates.

James Alexander & Nancy had 6 children that I could find...
Steve - No dates
Bennie - you know the dates
Willie "Bill" 1921-1983
John - 1924-2008
Mary - 1928 - (not passed?)
Leota Mai - 1910-1967 memorial #85469802

I didn't find any obits in the KNE as that is the only place I search. But gave it a shot since they had a daughter living in Trigg County. I really like finding those to help others out. Glad my obit of your grandmother helped you!

I hope this information helped you as well!
Happy Thanksgiving.

Lori,

I'm sorry but I won't be able to get the photo's for you as I indicated I would. My wife went in for a test for an upcoming surgery she was to have and very serious complications have come to the Doss family. We've had two surgeries (12 hours) already and another to follow in about two weeks.
After that we are looking at 6 to 12 months of rehab. in Nashville. Looks like Find A Grave will be on the back burner for me for sometime.

Sorry!

Lori, I made notes in bio section of Betty May's memorial ,52147426. You might want to set up a cenotaph for your uncle and link the two. You can find instructions in "Help with Find A Grave".
Thanks for your help,

Lori..I'm glad I was able to help. The age difference was why I didn't mention him at first, but then times were different & it was very possible. I'm glad you've gotten some answers, I've also seen the name spelled Maddex. Take care, Bev

RE: T Y
I think it might be Maddux because he comes up under the census as Maddux & is listed that was in the 1930 census with Florence.

RE: T Y
I'm wondering if it was a spelling mistake. You could request a photo & see if it is on the stone. I didn't see an obit, but I saw a death certificate. Do you have Ancestry? If not I can try & send you a copy. Bev

RE: Mary Meredith marker
Lori,

I don't know if I'm helping or hurting your research
but here's another name for you. I have a Woodrow Meredith b: 31 Dec 1913 d:28 Feb 1963 buried in a Turner Cemetery but not the Ross Turner cemetery which is located in the Land Between the Lakes.
This Turner Cemetery is located Brant Dr south of Cadiz.

I also show in the same cemetery a Florence Nannie Maddox Meredith b:8 Jul 1912 d:23 Sep 1949. My book I ref shows "No Stone" but indicates an Obit in the Cadiz Record newspaper dated 29 Sep 1949.

This cemetery is also known as the Nannie Cemetery an the Radford Cemeterfy

Florence Ellen Burke Meredith
Hey, I have taken a picture of every stone I believe in that cemetery. I do not remember seeing her stone there. When I go back, I will look again. Please know that I do not live there any more, but I am kin to the majority of this cemetery and I love Cerulean Cemetery, so I will go back.

I truly believe she will be an unmarked grave.

Hope all is well!
