Rev. Peter Deweese
I have read your information with great interest as I am doing genealogy for my niece's father's side of the family and so this line is not connected to me as I am a sister of her mother.

I have tried to connect the dots of Rev. Peter Deweese's family (By the way, what does the FR in Rev. Fr Peter Deweese stand for?) and especially his wife or is it wives? In the information for Peter on Find A Grave, you start out that he married Sarah Bowling and then father down, he married Sarah Browning. Was he married to both at some time or other.

I agree with you on their daughter, Mary Polly Deweese who married Samuel McIntosh. I have found at least four sons on Find A Grave. Peter Deweese McIntosh is buried in the same cemetery as his namesake grandfather, Peter Deweese.

What is the most confusing about Peter Deweese's family is Elizabeth Deweese Spencer and Nancy Deweese Bowling. On Find A Grave's record of Elizabeth Spencer, the name on the heading says Nancy Elizabeth "Elizabeth" Deweese Spencer born 4 Jun 1805 and died in Arkansas. The stone says only Elizabeth Spencer however she has a daughter named Nancy Elizabeth Spencer Roberts (1822-1966) Sometimes I find someone's tree that says Nancy and Elizabeth are possibly twins and yet I find one is born 4 Jun 1803 and the other 4 Jun 1805.

Some say that Nancy married married Jesse Bowling Jr. and I did find a record in the Kentucky marriages 1803-1850 that Nancy Deweese married Jesse Bowling 2 Mar 1819 in Clay, Kentucky. I looked for Jesse Bowling on Find A Grave for Clay, Ky and came up with a Jesse B Bowling born 1847 (Possible son) only to find his death certificate which listed two entirely different people as his parents. MOST CONFUSING!!!

I am about to believe that Nancy Elizabeth is one and the same.

Also on Rev. Fr Peter Deweese's Find A Grave, you say the DeWeese's are descended from Ferdinand I Habsburg, Holy Roman Emperor. Do you have a tree to show how the DeWeeses are connected?

I am sorry this is so long but it has been totally confusing in some places. Lois Ams

I see she is your 9th Great Aunt. I guess that makes us related, she is my Paternal 7th Great Grandmother.

Hi! I noticed on Eva Custer's page, you said she was your 9th great aunt... If I have my lineage correct, Eva is my 9 times great grandma! I was wondering if you know anything about Eva Custer, if you could verify that Sychen Godshalk is her daughter, or have any other information on that direct line that might be of interest. Feel free to email me at

Thank you!

Thank you very much, I appreciate all this info. If I'm looking at this correctly, Symon should not be linked to Mary of Guise since his mother was Anne Keith.
