RE: Vern
Hi Donna. You are very welcome for the info. No, I only have what I sent you via the Edit tab. If you go to the Oscoda County Herald website, and look at the Obituaries, that is where I found it. No, I didn't know him; I'm in the process of updating the Fairview Cemetery memorials, and have been keeping an eye on the Weaver Cemetery, because they have it mismarked as also being the Fairview Mennonite Cemetery!

Grave Memorial# 119100334

This memorial, Penny Louise Riopelle, is my sister. I was going to add her today and found that you already have a photo and record for her. Can you have it transferred to me?

Thank you,
Sheri (Riopelle) DeVinney

Thank You Donna, I appreciate you going out to get this photo, I requested a photo of his wife Cora, I bet she wasn't there next to him, or you probably would have taken that one too, Charles and Cora was my Aunt and Uncle, I think I may have found where Cora is, north of you in Oscoda County, I am going to revise her memorial and request a photo, thanks again, Bobby Pierson

Thank you so much for checking into getting the picture. I live in Lima, Ohio and grew up across the street from his mother. I never met him. Since I am not related, I wouldn't be able to have access either. Not sure if there is anything to do. So sad. Thanks again for trying, Donna.

RE: Private Cemeteries
I honestly can't say. That is something you may want to ask the people who run this site.

I need to know which James A. BUCHANAN you're referring to since there are 4 buried in Arlington. Please provide me the memorial numbers for both James and his wife.

Thank you
I received your message and picture. Thank you so much. This is a branch of my family that I am just scratching the surface on and finding people that I had no idea were family members.

Thank you again.

RE: Merged Memorials
The memorial that was created first is supposed to be the one that counts, despite how much information may be on the once created subsequently. If memorials were merged, it would have had been done by the administrator of this site. Regular members can't merge memorials, only delete them. If a memorial is transferred to someone else, only the original creator of it can delete it. As far as transfers, I don't think there is any restriction. I'm not sure if that answered your question or not. You may want to send an e-mail to the site administers at

hello Donna. you sent me A S.A.C saying the Birth was 1815. This info is incorrect as the child only survived for 3 weeks as stated on the photo of the stone.

RE: Find A Grave e-mail???

With the amount of e-mails they receive, don't be surprised if it takes awhile for an answer, or have to re-send the e-mail after a period of time goes after no response.

Gustave Poehner is buried next to a Herman C. & Katherine Poehner. I took a photo of their stone as well.

RE: Poehner
I didn't catch what you meant in your last messasge. It's not that I care how many requests people send, the issue is some people will submit one request, and in the comments, list a dozen other people they want photos for. Unless the volunteer clicks on that little bubble to read the comments (which don't print out), they'll end up being missed when all the actual requests are printed off for that cemetery.

I have your other request and I'm going to go over and find that one this afternoon.

Thank you again and always glad to help another member!

Just a heads up!
First I'd like to welcome you to FindaGrave (Find A Grave)

I found your memorials for the Turners. You've made two cemeteries that are the same name.

You're probably unfamiliar with how to make memorials for the cremated.

You don't make cemeteries for them. What you do is designate them burial unknowns/cremated. Then you put in the disposition of "Cremated remains are at the Turner Ranch Onsted, Michigan on Sheeler Rd." Plus what ever else.

I wonder if you have read the frequently asked questions (FAQ) yet. Its a good place to learn all the rules/guidelines of the site.

The discussion forums are another valuable resource for information. You might want to lurk there at first to learn the ropes. You have to register there to read the forums. It's all pretty easy.

I can help you change your memorials to burial unknown/cremated, just let me know, it's pretty easy.

If you have any other memorials to contribute, when looking for the cemetery to add them to, look thru all the cemeteries listed in that county, sometimes they are named something else and it will have the AKA under the main name.

The reason I found yours is that I am working on mapping all the unmapped cemeteries in Michigan.

Another issue is when you add a photo. On the add a photo page is a selection link whether it be a photo of the person or the stone, it is very important to select the right link because right now on the two Turner memorials it shows the memorial has a stone picture, very misleading. This I learned quite a while later after I started here. I am very careful now.

Please let me know if you need help with the changes. Plus if you have any other sorts of questions I'd be happy to help!
