they start in Carteret County, then to Rutherford and Buncombe. They left North Carolina via Georgia, Alabama and were in Arkansas by the 1880's

RE: death certificates
Thank you Charlotte, I mean no disrespect, I am not talking about yours in particular, but I would hate for a family with a wrongful death, suicide or so forth to see one and contact me with anger or such, thank you, Larry

Edits for Lula Denning Wallace.
Charli, I added the info in the bio for Lula. Could I ask you a favor and ask you to remove any death certificates, etc from my memorials. Even though some contain vital info, some also contain info not suitable to put on f-a-g. I will be happy to add any edits, etc you see fit to send, thanks, Larry

Chappel
Hi,

I'm sorry I do not have any additional information on their father. Most census reports
list her as single and death certificate lists her maiden name as Chappel. I wish you good luck!

Best,
Karen Bennett

RE: Kokkelers of North Dakota
Good luck on the search! I tried connecting the three that I took pictures of, after adding them, and made no progress. I'm sure that there are some weird spellings of the name on some of the records, so I gave up. Please do let me know if you are able to connect them to your friend.

RE: Kokkelers of North Dakota
Hi Charlotte, I have no connection to the family, so I'm not going to be of any help. I was just in the area on vacation, so I took pictures. I was hoping that you were related, or knew the Kokkelers that I had memorials for. If you find a connection between them and Bill, please let me know, and I'll transfer them to you. I'm sure that they must be related.

Hi Charlotte,

Are you related to the Kokkelers in North Dakota? Thanks for your very generous compliment on the photos. Not sure that they are stunning though! Didn't have good light for photographing, so I did the best I could.

Forgotten Angels
RE: JBD
Hello. If you remember we were talking about John Byrd Dowdy a couple years ago. I have been working on the family tree and I think I have found his father, John Ray. I haven't been able to get into the census reports yet but hope to do so soon.
In the mean time, I also started a new Face Book page for my family tree. There is not much there as of right now but I hope to start filling out the page soon.
If you are interested just look on Face Book for Jerry Carlton Rice and follow the Red bunny. From there you should be able to contact me and find the family tree.
Tell Larry Happy late 71st birthday for me.

Kevin Roberson
Walter Green Martin
Do you have any other information on Walter Green Martin? He is my Great Grandfather. His death certificate lists his burial as Vicksboro cemetery. I can't find any info on a "Vicksboro Cemetery". I figured that it must have been Richard Jordan Pendergrass Memorial Cemetery, or one of the nearby churches, but I have been there several times and didn't see a marker. Just curious how you know that he is buried there.

I believe their daughter, Lou E. Brewer, born 1878 or 1879 is my great great grandmother. Do you have any information on her? Any help would be very much appreciated!

RE: Mary Harris Hamell
I'm not related to the Harris family. I do have a record of A. Jackson Harris on the 1870 census with a birth year of 1816. Is that the same one?

The world is getting smaller by the minute.... hi hi ... I have lived near Castalia for some 35 years now, and in the past couple of years have photographed most all cemeteries close by, I thought... I don't know of any I missed or have walked over.... no large cemeteries close by either ...???
Can you tell me was it in Nash or Franklin county ??? Was it a church cemetery or perhaps close to one ? and which road ?
Maybe an OBIT would help locate the grave... and I will be happy to follow up...

RE: Martha Jane Wilder.
Hey girl,

Wanna hear something interesting.... I was doing a little more research to help you and found the 1917 WWI registration for Robert Lee Hicks...buried in Blandford Cem....(my parents are there too ).. He lived in CASTALIA ,NC and guess what... that is where I live now.... Nash and Franklin counties share the same Post office...
I was thinking that maybe the parents Isaac and Elizabeth Hicks might be buried close by here...

ANY IDEAS...????. I can't find anything firm on this...

Another thing... ON the registration ( which is hard to read ) , it looks like Robert wrote that he was 3 years in the standing army xxxx xxxx Fort Bliss Texas...... could he have served earlier and then reinlisted for WW I ....???

do you have anything on the parents...?

Fred

Battersea Factory
Ok where the Battersea Mansion is and all of that neighborhood the railroad runs right behind it. There is a Pepsi Cola factory beside the Battersea Mansion. There are a few factorys left in Petersburg one was Seward Luggage. The are that Battersea is that is where my family is from. Its Appomattox Street, Hinton and High Streets when I go back to Dinwiddie or call my dad tonight I will verify what was called the Battersea Factory for you as my grandfather Ernest was a "Battersea Boy" they played baseball etc and all grew up in that neighborhood. I am glad the funeral home could help.
