RE: Poppen at Spirit Lake, SD

It was my pleasure to take the photo. I did take pictures of the whole cemetery when I was there, and I am working on uploading them, so keep checking back :-) . I also discovered another complication that I am working on correcting. The earliest burials in that cemetery were recorded by the WPA as being in the German Presbyterian Cemetery (also Kingsbury County, SD). Those are set up in a cemetery with that name, but are actually in the same cemetery as Spirit Lake. Hopefully we can get them consolidated, but for now, both Henry A. Poppen and Infant Poppen are in German Presbyterian. There are also some graves that hadn't been added to Spirit Lake. I have about 68 more pictures to upload, and hope to have them done soon.

Best regards,

Brenda Hahn

RE: Mason's from SD and Ozark, AR
That's nice of you, but I am not kin to any of the Mason family. I just photograph cemeteries and create memorials for them. But thanks anyway.

RE: Laverne Claassen stone photo
Well I found the memory stick with the register on it. I do not know when this was last updated but the Claussens it shows being buried there are:
Betty, Clara, Jerry, John, John L, Lena and Luverne. They don't give dates on the register. I would say go ahead and post a photo request if you know of any of these people and next time I go out that way I would be happy to do the photo requests. Or someone else might do it before I get a chance to which is fine. If you do a photo request I will then remember you wanted them.

RE: Laverne Claassen stone photo
I wish I had known about these requests when I was at the cemetery.. it is about a half hour to forty five minute drive from where I live. However they have a wonderful board at the cemetery that lists the people buried there. I am certain I saw other Claassens buried there.. I also am certain I photo graphed the board and have it somewhere on my memory sticks.. I will try to look for it and see if I can find them.. I will let you know.

El Camino Cemetery no longer give out information on plot locations to non-family members. Can you please call them and get the plot number I will be happy to come out again.

Hi Ellen
Your virtual cemetery for duplicates is a good idea. If you have the time, your next step would be to pair the Find A Grave #'s together and have Findagrave merge them. Send an email to asking them to merge them. Super way to gather together a bunch of duplicates.

Sarah Classen
There is no Sarah Classen or Klaussen listed for burial in this cemetery. the only thing close is a Mrs Classen, who has no stone.

RE: John Wieske photo
Hello Helen,
I took photos of all the stones at that time in the cemetery that were readable, so if there is any of John's family near him, there is no stone. They may be buried near him, but one would have to contact the sexton. Sorry I could not help you.

I'll transfer all of them next. =) Usually in these rural towns, if the last names are the same, they are all related somehow. ;)

Would you like to manage all the Bollinger family members that I maintain? I like to transfer memorials to family when possible. =) I'll add the edit information you sent already in the meantime. Thanks!

RE: Bollinger
Yes, the Mother stone was right next to Henry's, on the left side. The Father stone was on the right side. Not sure why there isn't a headstone for Elizabeth. Thought I was on to something with the other Elizabeth... especially since that one was married to a Henry too. ;) You are most welcome for the photos. =)

Remember Them Always
Just did a quick search and may have found her. You'll want to check your information to verify if it is indeed her. Hope this helps. =)

Remember Them Always
Hello =) I've fulfilled your photo requests for Henry & Elizabeth. There was no headstone for Elizabeth that stated name or dates; just the 'Mother' headstone. I checked all sides of Henry's and neighboring headstones to find hers. Looks like there just isn't one. Maybe she's buried elsewhere? Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Let me know if there is anything else I can do.

I'm sure they have a stone, but I'll check tomorrow. It is nice to be able to piece together the family, isn't it? :)

RE: Lucinda J Adams Printy
I'll go ahead and transfer Lucinda so you can list her children. The Printy family is never ending so am sure there will be many new names pop up in connection with the many that we already know from having lived in the area for several years.
