RE: Wonderful Job
Thanks...I needed that. The remark I got a couple of weeks ago was the first time something like that has ever happened to me. This is a hobby that I haven't been healthy enough to work on lately, but hopefully will be able to start back soon.

RE: Germany/France

Thanks for the suggestion however, I have been informed that there never was a village or city with the name on his death certificate. I don't believe my great-grandmother could read or write so the doctor apparently entered the way it sounded to him..

RE: Obit Suggestion
You are very welcome. I feel like this is my mission and think that folks in the future, if not now, will really appreciate having the information.

Best regards,

RE: John Elson French
This does not change the facts. He is buried in McGraw Cemetery because his pension application papers state that this is the cemetery where he and his wife are buried. Thanks, Pattie, for posting this info. People have not been protective of records as they should have been in the past.

I've been lucky that most have transferred or written what I wrote up about my ancestors. John French is the only loose end.

Most cemeteries have plats of where people are buried, so I don't buy it for a minute that they don't know where he is buried.

RE: Sarah Frances Bigss Smith
Death cert. is okay: in the cemetery notes I wrote that the cemetery was originally "Bosque Farms Project Cemetery", and then the name was changed due to usage.

RE: Sarah Frances Bigss Smith
Patti - Just transferred to you. Is Cora Roberts Smith part of Sarah's family? The marker for Sarah is one of those freebies given out by funeral homes so it will last about 10 more years. The black spots on the marker are from .22 cal. bullets from kids playing in the desert. I'm curious: just what cemetery name was listed on the death cert.?

Karoline Lindner Hahn

I have some of the 1908 and 1921 plats of Seward County and note a William Lindner in I precinct in 1908. Might this be a son of Karoline's?
