Hi. Thanks for the response. My edit was to move Karch from the Maiden Name field to the Last Name field. Since it appears that Jacqueline was never married she would not have a maiden name. Thanks for taking a look at this one.

Dear Gail, The markers are wood and look to have been replaced . The placement in the cemetery is of the correct time period for both deaths and burial of both of them. I had planned to do some research on Ancestry.com for her name to see if she might have been a Mary Anne. If you would like me to do that send me as much info on the two of them. Name, dates, place of residence. Anything that could help me. This cemetery is in very bad shape, over run and graves collapsed in on themselves. It's not hard to find but you have to know where to look to find it. Any help I can give you will be my pleasure. Glad I could help with the pictures. Marc

Forrest is such a well kept cemetery with a full time maintenance crew and I just can't believe that John's marker is not visible. I plan to go back into the office again and see which side John was buried and poke around. Humid weather just zaps us here - be glad when it is cooler. Check again later to see if I found anything. Kind regards, Nancy

|Bri B||RE: Leander Thomas Burge|
So nice to hear from you! I'm glad the photo was so helpful. Leander Thomas and Opal (Hawkins) Burge are my great-grandparents, so I had planned to take the photos for myself anyway, but it's always nice to know I helped someone else out in the process! According to my grandmother, Leander went by "Tommy" for most of his life and that's how I've found him in most records. I sent a message to the maintainer asking to correct the name on the memorial, so hopefully that will make it easier for others to find him.

Hi According to the listing the inscription said G W Died Apri; 7 1881, aged 62 years 9 months and 23 days so I used my date calculator and came up with Birth 15 Jun 1818. Angeline has no dates.
I will post the pic of Charles marker it has fallen over on the side with inscriptions on it. the list says Charles R Whitlock son of GW and A died Aug 21 1868 age 21 y 9 m 6 d. calculations put his birth as 15 Nov 1846. hoe this helps.
I havnt found Edward in any of the cemetery books for union county sorry.

Edwin is not buried in Jonesboro Cemetery or in any cemetery in union county according to the cemetery books. But There is a Charles R Whitlock buried next to GW and A let It says he is the son of GW and A in the book the stone is knocked over so you cant read it but I did take a pic of it. Let me know if you want a copy.

|Patricia Hilton||RE: Helton/Hilton Family|
My husband is from Tifton, GA and most of his family were from Georgia. The Whitfield Co.,GA area and all around. His grandfather is Oswin whose father is Johnny whose father is Richard whose father is unknown whose father was a Cherokee Indian Chief from N.C. I can get back to the Richard but then hit a stumbling block but I really haven't done a lot of research on this line yet. His Grandfather Oswin, for some reason or another changed their last name to Hilton???? All the rest are Helton's. The same thing happened to me, my grandfather on my father's side changed the spelling of their last name.
I am very much interested in what you may have. Maybe we can piece the puzzle together!!! Thanks

Hi .I just happened to come across the name Whitlock that you are related to. I am related to Whitelock .. Catherine Whitelock was my grandmother. There were some family that migrated to Illinois and Utah...All in the same family even tho spelled with an "e".I'm sure you are familiar with the Whitlock ancestry on the internet. I am #57.I would like to communicate with you if you are interested and let me know which number you are.

Sorry, Gail for taking so long to get back with you, but I have been taken away from the project of posting grave in Find A Grave due to other job related duties, as a genealogy library assistant. I started positng the records for Illinois from The Saga of Soutern Illinois periodical when I realized that they were about to be weeded,after searching and seeing that a lot of the graves were not listed in Find A Grave, and not many libraries have the books.
On page 38 of the "Saga of Southern Illinois" the New Hope Cemetery chartered June 3, 1891 is located in Jefferson Co., four miles east of Route 37 on the Jefferson/Frankling Co. line, then one mile north. The paragraph mentions that the cemeter is now being called The Hope Cemetery. The records were not submitted by me but by Marie Greenwood before 1975. There is also a Death list for Hope Cemetery with other Willmore names,among other names. The two list cover over 15 pages. I will be glad to transfer anything to you. Thank you for your understanding.
