|Ann Stranman||Scovilles--Saybrook Cemetery|
Cindy--Just thought I'd let you know I found and added memorials and photos for several Scovilles in Saybrook Cemetery who were not previously here on Find A Grave. Not sure if they're relatives of yours, but thought you might be interested in knowing some were added so you can look at them.

|Ann Stranman||Laura Scoville Smith #118296231 Chestnut Grove|
Hi, Cindy...Thought I'd let you know I added a memorial for Laura Scoville Smith, the wife of James Smith, Jr. and Grandmother of James Lewis Smith (Smith Home for the Aged, Smith Field, President of Bridge Disaster Monument Committee, erected Soldiers and Sailor Monument, etc.)...according to the Smith Estate History publication, she married James Smith Jr. in 1821...that booklet indicates she was the daughter of Adnah Scoville, though that would not appear to be the Adnah listed in Chestnut Grove as the 2 appear to be too close in age (though perhaps the publication is incorrect and that was her brother).

|Ann Stranman||Scovilles in Chestnut Grove|
I got pictures of a few graves of Scovilles for whom there weren't already pictures today--there was a request for one of them, but they've all been uploaded. Not sure if they're "your" Scovilles, but thought I'd let you know so you could check them out.

Thank you for the information. I moved Cornelia Vandenburg Scoville to Chestnut Grove Cemetery as you requested.

|Gregory Square||Richard Szymanski|
Yes Cindy, I AM the Gregory Square from Madison. Richard and I were very close friends earlier in life, but drifted apart through the years. It is very sad not to have him around anymore.

|Ann Stranman||RE: Distant relative|
Oh, wow...how neat! I found 2 distant relatives on here within the first couple days of registering as I was looking up family members and saw members who had posted actual photos and messaged them and found out they were distant cousins.

|Ann Stranman||RE: Re: Adnah Scoville|
I thought you might enjoy knowing that...if you're anything like me, you like to know those stories as part of your family research to be able to share with others. I found that out from the Ashtabula 200 page which has a list of Mayors/City Managers and gave me the idea for the project I'm doing. I'll try to paste a link for your reference: http://www.ashtabula200.com/id67.htm

|Ann Stranman||RE: Re: Charles & Lavinia Scoville|
You're welcome--glad to help! By the way, I found information indicating Adnah Scoville was Mayor of Ashtabula in 1845-1846...wasn't sure if you were aware of that, but thought I'd share it with you. I'm doing a little photography project of graves of historic/prominent local individuals (for "fun" and to give me a reason to explore cemeteries).

Thanks for taking this for me!

Thanks for clarifying that information. I am actually related to Mary M Lovell (my great, great grandmother) and wondered who was buried next to her. There is another stone on the other side with the initials, B.S. on it. Do you happen to know who is buried there? Thanks, Sandy Lovell

Hi Cindy, I just found your email. I guess the stone is smaller than usual. I found in the cemetery directory that it did say G.D at one time. Thank you again for your help! Really appreciate it!

Thank you so much for taking the photos of the cemetery sign and the small headstone for what I think is probably the burial place of my GG grandfather, (George) Adam Derringer.
I was wondering if you could tell me if you could make out anything on the stone, any printing. Also was the stone close to any other Derringers? I definately plan to get down to Ohio, hopefully soon to see this and my other (greats)grandparents.

The photo that is there doesn't show the front of the stone it shows the top and side edges. I would still like a better photo if at all possible.

Yes, this is the same person with different names over time. I changed her name. Please post the picture:)
Many thanks, Charles
