Valerie, I am a descendant of Col. Zacchaeus Elam Cheatham of Appomattox County Virginia. My name is John Michael Cheatham and my line follows Zacchaeus through William Loudon, William Ernest, Zacheous Elam to me. My Zacchaeus was born 1794 and married two sisters, Martha and Prudence Elliot. Feel free to contact me at Cheathams@horsesplay.us.

RE: ZACCHEUS ELAM CHEATHAM
Valerie - I couldn't find a living descendant of Zaccheus Elam, although I'd be glad to send you what I've compiled on his descendants if you'd like to run it down further. However, I have corresponded back in 1999 with a descendant of Thomas Isham Montgomery Cheatham's brother William Loudon Cheatham. He is John "Jack" Michael Cheatham who resided in Milford Oh. back in 1999. His father was also named Zaccheus Elam Cheatham. I'd be glad to look up his 1999 email address if you'd like, just let me know. Hope this helps a little. Best regards - Bill C.

Pilot Knob Cemetery
Valerie: I have made all of the transfers to you. The last time I was at Pilot Knob it was not in bad condition. Commie Jo Hall has tried very hard to keep the cemetery going and is asking for donations the keep it up. If you would like to donate something you can contact her at the Simpson County Archives.

RE: Lena Leslie Powers-Hargis
Hi Valerie
The full names for Lena and Felix came from Alexander Funeral Home Records. They are not listed in the Macon Co. Cemetery Book as having stones, so I am not sure. As soon as possible, I will go by the cemetery and check on that for you. You mentioned Lenner as a name for Lena. Leaner is an old country pronunciation for Lena. No one pronounced the last letter as A. It is usually pronounced as "ER"
