Seeing burial info 10 or more years after a death makes no sense to me. And then forever more. I think Bios should contain info re: family and individual.
Added by richokeefe on Apr 27, 2015 5:01 AM
I don't include funeral arrangements in a bio that will remain for years after a person's death.
I strongly suggest you adopt a similar policy.

Do you have any more photos for this cemetery? If not I am going to go out there and take some.

It appears he is indeed at Woodland. I updated the memorial with his plot location. Hope that helps!

Just letting you know I have added cemetery info to both of their pages at Mount Hope, and an obit on Emily's. I was unable to find an obit for her husband.

Jane, I was looking at John c. Flora's Memorial I found a few mistakes. John married Ann McKesick 20 Feb 1827, her father was James McKissick he died in 1827. John married Rebecca 6 Aug 1836.
Also the last line you said he was buried in Newfield Cemetery.
You have him in New Castle.

Jane, You can have any of my memorials. I like what you are doing.

I just connected Dr. James A. Flora to John Calvin Flora.
Added by Grace Flory on Mar 17, 2015 8:15 PM
Jane you don't have to transfer them back to me.
All I want is to have them out there with all the information for people in the future will have it easier to trace their ancestors. I wish 30 years ago I had this program.

If you don't want to send the Census info I sent before, at least add the following:
FATHER: Simeon J Duesler 1810-1892
MOTHER: Catherine Godwin 1810-1901
HUSBAND: Martin Duesler 1837-1912
MARRIED: June 7, 1855 Ephratah, NY
1. Emmalina Creede 1857-1907
2. Jonas L. Duesler 1859-1941
3. Oliver S. Duesler 1861-1939
4. Aaron Duesler 1864-1876
5. Rita C. Klock 1868-1951 MA
6. Anna Mary Duesler 1870-1875
Would like to know who are what gives you the right to decide what you will add to a memorial???!!! In my previous e-mail, I took the time to type what I would like in Harriet's memorial -- and you didn't add any of it. Jane"
All of the information is in her memorial. To add it in "your format" would just be a duplication. I prefer a less "textbook/family tree style" memorial. I like a memorial that makes the individual be the center of attention. It is a memorial to them not a section of a family tree.

|Beautiful Savior Is My Lord Jesus Christ||Hi Jane,|
I am doing much better, still feel light headed at times and I do lose my balance so I am using a cane. If I go out alone I will have to use a walker, I am afraid of falling down & injuring myself. I have a lot of good people praying for me and I am so thankful for everyone's prayers.
I am sorry I got behind in my emails & transferring memorials to you. I will get them all transferred to you tomorrow. I have to finish addressing my Christmas cards, so I hope you don't mind waiting an extra day.
God Bless you and your family. Have a very Merry Christmas.

|DBT||Re: Guy W. Duesler|
I was wondering about the V or W, Guy, Jr.'s newspaper articles, obit and military records have him as Guy W. Duesler, Jr. My father was a Jr. even though his father's middle name was different. So who knows. If someone gets a picture of the stones, it may answer the question. I thought maybe Guy, Jr.'s middle name maybe William for his grandfather.

|DBT||Re: Bessie Lape Duesler|
While Bessie may be buried in Prospect Hill as of this time I have nothing that says so.
I have added her to my list of people to check out at Fulton Historical Society and Prospect Hill Cemetery. Normally I would suggest putting in a photo request. Unfortunately, I see there are 135 requests that have not been acted on.
Bessie and Guy apparently had an on again, off again marriage. But Guy's obit does list her as his widow. It is just another puzzle to solve next summer.

|DBT||RE: Harriet Duesler|
Per Find A Grave guidelines:
"Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren." With hundreds of thousands of contributors, we have many overlapping family trees and it would be impossible for all contributors to manage their entire tree.
Harriet is linked to her family. Adding your format is just a duplication of the information provided in the memorial.
Census show where someone was living on the day the census was taken. To assume that is where someone was born is just an assumption. Also to assume that is where they died is also an assumption, not fact.
Charles Duesler's book is his family tree that he created and had printed. You can find family books at your local library and historical societies. You can also buy them on-line. I have several for my family lines. These type of books are great starting points when you start your family tree. The important part is to verify the information for yourself from original sources. They all have errors and assumptions that are not accurate.
The Duesler family has many many descendants and branches. I have documented just a few members locally.
Because I will not transfer or set up my memorials the way you want is not a reason to attack me.
I am more than happy to add any accurate information, after verification.
The ultimate goal should be to have meaningful, accurate memorials that honor those who have passed away.

|DBT||Re: Harriet Duesler|
Your request: "Please add to Harriet's bio -- at the top -- please leave the obit at the bottom and delete the two children in the bio section as they ae linked below:"
All of the information is contained in the memorial. I do not add multiple census information. This is a memorial for the person it is not their family tree. It usually is not a good idea to direct people on how to set up their memorials. Everyone has their own style.
