I do remember you! I was thrilled to learn that I had helped you find some info that you needed!!! In the records of the orphanage was also a book that contained the names of the children that died while there. It just broke my heart.
Keep up the great work!!

Sorry I couldn't find The Calloway you refer to. The nearest memorial I posted was William Callaway in St Clements, Truro. I don't have any useful information for you. God only knows!!

Noticed that you left 'flowers' on this memorial. Thought that I would let you know that Perry and his wife now have pics posted. Yes, they are from very old tintypes. Just delete if not related.

Good morning from Kansas!
My connection to this family is thru William's wife and actually her mother. They were members of the Ballard/Mick family. My great-grandmother was Josephine Mick Brodbeck and was born on the farm north of Marseilles,IL. They came to western Kansas in the late 1880's. I do have a listing in my files for the family of William Taylor showing ten children, as follows:
Ruth Taylor b. 1902
Sidney Taylor b.1904
Robert E.Taylor b. 1906 d.1906
Helen Adella Taylor b.1907
William Hope Taylor b.1909
Harriet J Taylor b.1912
Mildred M.Taylor b.1914
Wilbur S.Taylor b.1916
Anna May Taylor b.October 1919
Arthur L.Taylor b.1922
If I'm remembering correctly William worked at the penitentiary in both Quincy (twice)and at Joliet. Adella died in 1922 and William in 1948. I've been to that cemetery where they are buried. The first time I couldn't find them, but did on the second try. That place could use some help! I never worked much on the children, so don't know much about them. Let me know if I can answer any questions.

The records are there. I held them in my hand and even made copies of the pages. I thing you can go online into the college's site and in their library archives, the items they have are listed. Good Luck! It was a wonderful trip for me!

This man was my great great grandfather. I went to the archives at the University in New Orleans. They are the ones who have the records from the orphanage. I was OVER-delighted to find the information on Matthew, because he was very young when placed there and did not even know his own birthdate. Hope this help.
