Oh, ok then no. His 3rd wife was my mother, a much younger woman. His daughter Judy was my half sister. She passed awat about 25 years ago from pancreatic cancer. I remember her telling me once when I was a child that her mother was some how related to Clark Gable. Maybe through marriage. I can't quite remember.

Just wondering if we are related. Drww Scribner was my father. He was much older than my mother and died when I was 7. Thanks so much, LeaAnn

|Jane Charls||George Charls|
Yes, there absolutely is! George and Violet were brother and sister who never married and lived on the 'home place'. They were my grandfather's siblings. Mildred was raised by them and I met her on a couple of occasions. I have always wondered if she had photos of Aunt Violet and Uncle George. Few exist.
Thank you for contacting me - I have often thought of Mildred since she passed.

I was trying to figure out who you are and why you would have put flowers on my father's find a grave site. I think I have it figured out now, the last name Morice was my great great grandmothers sister's married name... My gg grandmother was Anna Allen married to Hamilton Stirrett. Have I got this right... The sister I think was Barbara ????

|Connie Rifenburg||RE: Cousins|
I just finished writing a note to you (I think) regarding the change, with lots of questions. You make it sound simple from your side of the family. I have way too many Hiram's and Cassius's. :-)
Nice to meet you Cousin. I can not believe all of the family members I have met on Ancestry and Find a Grave. Just a few weeks ago, I recevied an email from a woman who was the sister of my uncle. The strange part about that was.... my uncle was adopted. Our family never knew this, and her family had been searching for him for almost 90 yrs. She found him on Find a Grave and wrote me. Sadly, he had died at age 14, and his "birth" brothers and sisters never knew. Even sadder, my mother never knew her brother was adopted. All are deceased now, but this "birth" niece continued the search for her "lost" uncle. And we found each other.
Such stories amaze me and so I would love to have a copy of the letter you speak of. Thanks for contacting me.

Hi! Hope this finds you well. I have taken the liberty of transferring Henry and Leata to you.
You may already know this, but Ancestry has recently made available PA death certificates from the years 1906 to 1944. Since some of the information was not available at the time I created her memorial (such as exact date of birth) I added that information before transferring over to you.
Even though you did not request any transfers, I feel family should be with family. I would be happy to transfer anyone else if you find other family members.
Have a great day!

Aaron was my gr gr grandfathers (Elijah Shaff) brother who ended up in Iowa and then SD. The spelling ended up as Shaff and then somewhere along the line my grandfathers last name was changed to Schaff.

Hi my name is Deanna Lorena Lawrence Spillers and I'm Elva's granddaughter. Looking at her info you put on here is wrong. Her middle name is Azalia and she was Born on 7 May 1915 not what you have. Please make the changes so they are right for other people looking for her information.

The obituary you posted was very nice. what was the source for that? James C is the brother to my husband's great grandfather. Thank you for the fantastic info. Janet Kinsella

Thanks so much for Curly's obituary! I've posted it in his bio and have given you credit for it. It was very interesting to read - the sole survivor of the Custer battle! Who would've known without your grandmother's collection...

This has nothing to do with genealogy, but My dad, Joseph Kiska, was co-pilot of the B-17 that was shot down over Germany killing Fern's first husband, Sgt. Charles Oilar. My father survived the crash but was imprisoned for 13 months as POW in Stalag Luft 1. My mother was friends with Fern and they stayed in touch over the years. My mother, Marian Kiska, died in 1998. I was just going through some old papers of hers and came across a letter from Fern written in 1970.

I suspect that Christiana Bailey and Nathan Paret are grandparents (possibly the parents of my known G2GF - Horace Paret of Ridgebury/Slate Hill), at least based on the spelling .^_^. Horace and his descendents all used "Paret".

I find it interesting to read all of these stories. There is another lady who looks up obits on Chronicling America and sends them to me. I've had quite an education in Montana history since I got involved in this web site.
We should all be grateful to people like your great-grandmother who saved these bits of history for us.

What a great obit on my Great Grandfather. If you would like to send me a scanned copy that would be so awesome. The Picketts are related through my paternal Grandmother. Tracing my roots on my Dad's side is something that I have wanted to do for years and am just now getting started. Thank you so very much for your help.

Linda: I am not sure that you can help. My name is Tami(Lee)Greytak. Mary and Noah Lee are my great grandparents. I am the daughter of Perry Lee and he is the son of Ray Lee. Ray is the youngest ?? son of Mary and Noah. I am also trying to trace my family. I remember dad talking about hearing Noah say that the south would have been better off if Abe Lincoln would have kept is hookerbillied nose out of the south. It was rumored that Robert E. Lee would have been a relative of Noah.
