You're welcome and thank you for keeping all these records and updating them. That is a huge task and much appreciated!

infant sons of Leota Ferryman Ross
I called Glen Have to get accurate info.

Infant boy 1: Born Dec 31 1927
Died Jan 8 1928.
Buried at Glen Haven Memorial
Gardens in New Carlisle
on July 15 1935.

Infant boy 2: Born March 1 1929
Died March 1 1929
Buried at Glen Haven Memorial G.
on July 15 1935.

Also in that same grave is buried Wesley Garland
infant son of Mona Ross Garland.

Apparently these babies were originally buried in Garlough cemetery and after Grandpa Melvin Ross bought the plots at Glen Haven, the babies were transferred there. This rings true to what my mom has told me.

I'm sorry. I gave you some incorrect info. The infants sons born to Leota were born after my mom not before. I noticed they are listed as being burried in Garlough Cemetery. I will check with Glen Haven but I am sure when i was burying my mom there in 2007 they told me both infants sons had been transferred to Glen Haven and buried beside Leota. I will check on that and message you back.

RE: Connie
Hi Nancy. Leota Belle Ferryman Ross Powell. She remarried after Melvin Ross, my grandfather, died.
She married Daniel Powell. The Obit in the newspaper reads as follows. Mrs. Leota Ross Powell, 45, of 257 E. Mulberry St., switchboard operator of the Springfield Police Division died at 5:25 AM Monday (March 1, 1954) at City Hospital. She had been a patient there since Feb 9."

May mom- Leota and Melvin's daughter Phyllis Ross Winkle told me her mother died from hepatitis.

She is buried at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, 8200 W National Rd, New Carlisle, OH 45344. She does not have a headstone. She is buried in Veteran's Mound near the cross. My mother is buried beside her and has a tombstone (Phyllis Arlene Ross Winkle). Another daughter of Leota and Melvin is buried beside my mom. (Mona Elaine Garland) On the other side of Grandma Leota's unmarked grave is another unmarked grave that has the bodies of 2 infant sons who both died within a hours of birth. They were born before my mom who was born in June 1926.

Leota Bell was born March 8, 1908 in Clifton, OH. She was 17 when she married Melvin B Ross.on June 6 1925. I have the names of Leota's siblings if you need that. Only one Leota's daughter is still living. My Aunt Shair Ross Snyder.

Let me know what other info you want. I wonder how you and I are connected?

Name Correction
Please change the name of John David Friis, Lawrenceville Cemetery, Springfield, OH.

Due to an error in the Springfield, OH newspaper
his name was listed as John David Franklin Friis.

Franklin was the name of the town where he lived
in VA.

Thank you for all of your efforts.

Jim Friis, father

I did add but they were not right side up. I will add again tomorrow. Sorry. I am the new girl at this. I didn't look and another person pointed out that they were sideways. Again, sorry.

Hi, I did not find your edit to add to John D Martin memorial. Are you referring to Gary Brent Martin Sr. Obituary as his father who was just buried yesterday.

How about William and Julia Ansley both born in 1806 and living in Norristown 1860 Census and in 1870 William and Julianna Ainsley again both in Norristown. This is a start. Are you close to Norristown?

It's no problem, glad to help. I noticed the census records did not include him so with a bit of research, I found his parents. Have a nice day.

RE: Vivian Martin
it's pretty much standard $125 in this area, I know when my grandma died it took them 2 weeks to get to it, but we just had over 2 feet of snow so it might take longer. I'm not sure how much they do in the winter here, I'm from Ohio and I know they do these year round, there.

RE: Elizabeth Freeman # 71732846
The Charles Freeman #71732841 that was shown with Charles W. Freeman #71732842 and Elizabeth Freeman #71732846 was born in 1930, died in 1952. The obit for this Charles Freeman #71732841 is their Grandson and the son of Charles E. Freeman #61988773 and Eula Coumo Freeman #61988775 buried at Oaknoll Cemetery in Rome, Georgia.
I did some editing to try to correct the errors.
I assumed since you asked for a photo that you were related to Elizabeth Freeman #71732846 and that you may like to have the newspaper obits for Charles Freeman #71732841 and Charles W. Freeman #71732842.

It is my pleasure. I was glad to do it. While adding the photo, I noticed something odd about Charles E. Freeman. I did some checking and found obits for Charles E. Freeman, Jr. and Sr. I attempted to correct the entries. Look at the links and make sure it was done right. If you would like the obits I would be glad to send them.

RE: Donald Roderick
Hey Nancy, Thanks .... Since I do so many records and bio's I don't normally call cemeteries, etc. I do have a few folks who do that for me and I "assume" they checked for him as they have for so many others.

Donald, by the way, is listed on my webpage at:
http://russpickett.com/history/mekenn.htm

The entire state of Maine is listed here:
http://russpickett.com/history/mewwii.htm

Thanks very much my friend,

Russ

Nell Lovejoy
I went to the KY library and only found one Charles Lovejoy in the cemetery index and then to the Catlettsburg cemetery and found my mistake for the two Charles. On the stones one birth year is 1890 and the other 1891. My brain was not working that day for sure. I found obits in the newspaper archives for 3 of the four Lovejoys and have posted them on their memorials if you are interested. It does not seem that this Nell Burchett Lovejoy is the one you are looking for. Good luck in finding her, let me know if there is anything I can help you with in the KY-OH-WV tri-state area.

I will try and go to the public library in Ashland, Boyd County, Ky this week and look in the cemetery books there. I have looked online using Family Search and can not figure out the puzzle of the two Charles that I have memorials on with two different stones and birth years. I can look in the newspapers at the library for the obituary for Nell Lovejoy and hope that it lists her maiden name. I found two death dates for a Nell Lovejoy, October 15, 1979 in Lexington, Fayette County, KY and October 21, 1979 in Clark, KY.
I have talked to some of the cemetery workers when I was at the Catlettsburg cemetery and I get the idea that the older lady who manages it is not too helpful. There is a Old Cattlettsburg and a new Catlettsburg cemetery. The old one is on the hill across the road from the newer-bigger one and is not well kept. Some old stones can be seen in the weeds. To visit you have to get permission to go thru someones yard to reach the old cemetery.
Will try to unravel this puzzle and get back to you.

Linda

RE: Pearle Reed
WoW!!!! You did a great job enhancing her memorial. If you have any more you want to enhance let me know. Best to transfer to you than you taking all the time to send all the info to me. If you have a surname you want just give me the name and cemetery. You don't need to ask for each one. I love for these to be claimed and enhanced, as you did with Pearle. This is what this site should be about. GREAT work and thank you very much.

RE: Re: Corp Charles Burba
I work on seeing that every soldier that is listed on the tablets of the missing has a memorial on find a grave, as do many others. Some people don't realize that the tablets are a part of the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific. Unfortunately, Find a Grave has them listed as a separate cemetery instead of a plot or courts in the NMCP.
I have taken a photo of the tablet Corp Burba is on and was adding a memorial for him, when I do that, I check all of Hawaii for anyone with that last name and found your memorial. I saw that you had a photo of the wall also, so I just informed you of what I know, what you do with the information is up to you.
