Samaritan Cemetery

Located in the City of San Bernardino on Waterman Ave. North of Highland. The office is at Mt.View Cemetery. It is for indigents who are buried by a number in mass cremation graves paid for by the county. There are no markers and the urn in front is for flowers.

Samaritan Park, AKA Samaritan Cemetery, AKA San Bernardino County Cemetery, is a 4.5 acre section on the west side of Mt. View Cemetery. There are no headstones, in fact nothing to demarcate one grave from another.

Dilworth and Sara Nickels
I added pictures for Dilworth and Sarah but the dates do not match. I have found that there is 2 Dilworths in find a grave, 1 in Memorial and 1 in Little River Township. The same with Sarah Ann. The dates in the Little River Township match the headstone dates in Memorial. Is it possible that there is two headstones in different cemeteries for each person? I have a GG uncle listed in two cemeteries, that is why I ask?

Judy Mayfield
Dilworth and Sarah Nickels
Hello Leslie,
I honestly don't know if the Dilworth and Sarah Nickels at Memorial Park are the same as the ones at Little River Cemetery. The death dates are different. There is no tombstone photo for Memorial Park so it is hard to tell. I see you requested a photo for them so maybe it will give us some clues.

Take care

Correction, I see you are Facebook friends with Uncle Steve. I am just learning about Sharon and Carolyn. I was not aware of them until I found Rink's obituary and had to ask. I will try to get Rink's grave transfered to you. I added it because of the connection to my family and trying research my uncle's family for my cousins. I did not know his family originally was from Hutch. So I'm learning as I go.

E H (Rink) Snyder is the grandfather of my two cousins Steven Snyder and Sundi Pugh Snyder. Their father, Steve Snyder, is my uncle by marriage. I do genealogy so this is not some random thing. I'm trying to put together info for my cousins and their kids. Rink being buried at Greenlawn in Pratt is where several of my own family is besides Uncle Steve's mother. Please contact me if you would like to know more about Rink's son, Steve. My email is

Julia Marrs and Estle Wegner
Hi Leslie -

I have made the additions you requested to Julia Marrs and Estle Wegner.

Sharon Snyder Moots was my father's (James Perry) cousin. Seems like her husband was Bruce Moots (a recollection from childhood?). He may not have been her husband, but I remember a Bruce Moots and other Moots being around.

Julia Marrs was my great grandmother, Hazel Marrs Perry was my grandmother. Where do you fall in the family tree?

Hope to hear from you -

Diane Perry Hurst

Dear Leslie Moots,

My husband's great grand-dad is Phlander Moots.
Phlander's son was Otis Ross Moots. The oldest daughter of Otis Ross Moots was Lela Rose Moots Williamson.

Lela wrote down all the children that Philander and Prescill Moots had.

I would be happy to give you their births and deaths. They had 13 children.

I notice that other pics in this cemetery are not appearing either. Find a Grave probably is aware of the issue or you could contact them about it.

Re: Moots
Leslie, I am out of town right now. The important thing I had was Sarah's death certificate listing her parents as Conrad Moots & Elizabeth Linkweiler. I posted it on her memorial - Sarah Tharp buried in Utah. Also, notice her obituary another descendant posted - I believe that may be the source that lists the name of a sister.

Re: Moots
Hi Leslie. I've branched just upward enough to reach Conrad Moots but haven't any time to look further. Conrad & Elizabeth (Linksweiler) Moots' daughter, Sarah Moots Tharp, has several competent descendants actively researching. Are you from her line too?

Best Wishes,

RE: charles w moots
I have transferred ALL the Moots surnames I had in the database. Notice that I linked as many as I could, and have sent email/edit button requests to add parents/spouses. Not everyone is very accommodating in getting updates listed. (Sometimes I wonder if they just ignore Find A Grave emails). Best of luck to you in your continued research. Adriana

RE: charles w moots
The information showing is ALL I have ... I had uploaded Byron Moots at Chico Mausoleum for Find A Grave, had a little correspondence with "Barb", and then all the memorials were transferred to me (I did NOT ask for them). Do you wish to maintain them? Adriana

RE: york
No, I'm sorry but I have no info. My father-in-law and husband's family are buried there, so I try to leave flowers for memorials there and lots elsewhere as you can see by my flower count. Good luck on your search.
