RE: Photos
I have a few more photos to take at Glenville. Hopefully I will cover the rest of your requests as I am trying to get every marker entered. Unfortunately there are a number of graves there that never had a marker. We shall see.

Thank You
Dear Lynn,

Thank you so much for the Rev. William Waldrip transfer; it really means a lot to me to be a caretaker of his memorial and reestablish the connections with his parents, siblings, and children. Thank you again for your kindness. Blessings to you for your service in honoring our ancestors!

Debbie
PS I love your group photo from the Waldrip Reunion.

Addendum
I started poking around after leaving my reply. I checked out the familial links and notice that Lucille's parents (the Snipes) are buried in St. Peter's, Section 7. Do you know if Lucille & Merrit are buried with Lucille's parents in their family plot? I'll make sure to check there next time I'm out there.

Merrit & Lucille Crane Grave Stone
Do you happen to know any information on which cemetery or cemetery section Merrit & Lucille Crane are buried in? Whether St. Peter's or Oxford Memorial? (F-A-G clumps about 4 cemeteries together under the Oxford Memorial virtual cemetery umbrella as they're now all owned and maintained by the city of Oxford.) I've already been out on the hunt for you once. Just thought I'd ask in attempts to try to save some time in finding the gravestone. I've called Waller Funeral Home (open since 1977), and the only information they have is that Merrit & Lucille are buried together and share a stone. I've walked the cemeteries for almost a year and am sure I've run across the stone before, but just don't remember where. My guess is that they'll be found in Oxford Memorial due to their dates of death... that assumption is because the other 3 adjoining cemeteries (including St. Peter's) have been closed for about 5 decades (unless deceased folk have desired to be buried next to loved ones in those closed cemeteries). I've got all of the available cemetery maps on the 4 adjoining cemeteries & St. Peter's is the only one with a family plot map. I don't see any St. Peter's family plots being sold to anyone by the last name of Crane though. If you have any additional information to share, please feel free to send a return reply. Otherwise, I will keep looking and photograph the stone once it is found. ~Everett Baranowski

RE: Sam & Dell Cheshier
Yes indeed I took a full photo of the marker. I see I missed posting it on Dell so I just got that done. If you look at Sam and click on the photo tab at the top you will see it is posted on his memorial as well.

Thanks, Kathy

I did a do-over on Louella $ Thomas Goddard's gravestone. I wasn't happy with the old one so I redid it today.

No problem Lynn. I wish the stones would have been in a little better shape so I could have read the inscriptions and clarified the one date. Note that I added a photo for Samuel also.

RE: Robert E. Moore
They must have not have resided at 10031 Lanshire the entire time. An ad for the house reads:

Open 2-5; 10031 Lanshire. Lake Ridge Estates. 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, den, electric kitchen. Early American. Central air. $1,200 down. Lois Long, realtor. ...... 1-14-1962, Section 3, Pg. 17

Another ad for the house on 9-26-1965, Section G, pg. 21 .... 10031 Lanshire. 3-bedroom, 2-bath, den, central heat and air. Electric kitchen. Assume large loan.

It must've been hard to sell. .... 11-7-1965, Section G, pg. 20. 10031 lanshire - 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, den, central heat and air. Assume large loan.

This should be corrected as I sent an edit message to the person creating the memorial.

You are welcome. Were they part of a group? The lot picture shows them being buried in a lot of single graves (not a public lot, but a lot like a family would own). They were the only Waldrips there.

I have made the tranfers ... and yes I do believe that all women should have their maiden name on their memorials.
So nice to have met you on here. If I can do anything for you in the future .. just let me know.

"Deo vindice" is Latin for "God will defend us" or "God is our vindicator". It was the motto of the Confederate States of America, and was engraved on their official seal.

RE: Lillie & Robert Gamble
You are welcome! I carry a wire brush with me that does not deface the marker but cleans it enough to read it. It's a shame that others don't do the same-if you can't read it what's the use of taking pictures? With regards,
Gene
