|Tami||Alma and Preston KANE|
You are so welcome!
I will ask the cemetery sexton to probe the space next to Alma, and will let you know if we find anything.
A brief death notice appeared in the Seattle Daily Times on 03 Aug 1973 - and says Preston Cane, age 77, beloved husband of Alma. Father of Paul. Brother of Mrs. RG Reiter. Memorial services at 11am. Bleitz Funeral Home.
I will call the funeral home and see if they know where he was buried for certain!
And if you find further info on his burial, will you please let me know?

Thanks for the info. There is no Claverack in the menu for Albany County, I'm assuming the Claverack in Columbia County is the right town.

|Jac F||Sarah Purdy Gould Saylesville|
I checked Saylesville Cemetery for Sarah Purdy Gould's stone. I was unable to find it. Many of the stones are either gone, covered or simply illegible from weathering. Out of the 40 internments there may have been 15-20 that were visible.

|Tami||Alma, Preston KANE in Edmonds Mem|
I THINK that Preston KANE is buried there. But I can't confirm because many cemetery records were lost in transfer to city. That is one thing I am trying to help with. There are currently 4000 unmarked graves. Since your Preston died in the 70's, the cemetery was owned by a private individual, who destroyed many records. So we now have sketchy records from 1960's to 1982. Another individual bought the cemetery in 1982 and then willed it to the City - so from 1982 to present, the records are in good shape.
I have done almost everything but am trying to get my friend at the cemetery probe the plot next to your Alma. I am sending you an email so this is not so lengthy.

|Tami||Alma KANE in Edmonds Mem Cem|
I will be going to the cemetery today and Monday and will see if I can get into the office computer and request info on the KANEs there. I am photographing the cemetery and know right where Alma's is, so if Preston is not on the database, then I did not see a marker for him. But that doesn't mean he is not buried there. I will find out!
Cheers from Edmonds!

At present I'm working on database for Camas Cemetery. I will keep your request until I have completed the database. At that time, I will consider all transfer requests.

you said he died on the same day he was married. is that correct?
Added by deegraver on Jan 07, 2013 7:13 AM
the parents you sent can't be right, they were born in the 1760s. they would have been 10 or 11 years old when Terrell was born. thanks for the other info.

|kurt rogers||Harriet Louisa Elliot Curtis Morris|
I understand your concern, but her last name was Curtis as she was growing up. I have had to research both lines for genetic information as she is a direct ancestor to me. Her religion was important to her, so I used the adopted name. I have now included the Elliot name as a last name (which she would have never done) in response to your query. You need to remember that her mother was a polygamist wife of her son-in-law and when her first husband was found to be alive, all sorts of bad feelings resulted. I know I would have a hard time if I was asked to marry my own mother-in-law.
Welcome to those genealogical skeletons in the closet!
