Glad to help. Yes, it is a tomb - a modern version of an old box tomb.

The picture on his marker above his name is a golfer making a swing, with the green in the background.

RE: re: photo of clark
sorry about doubling up on photos. I don't have a pic of the full stone as the picture I put on was provided by Annette Shaw. I removed it from the site. Vickie

Joseph Farmer
Lucy Bell stone
Hello,

I got your photo request for Lucy Bell. I live near the cemetery and I have been there. Unfortunately, all the stones in the cemetery have been removed due to vandalism. I have heard that his descendant, Bob Bell, has the stones that were in this cemetery. I will try and get a hold of Bob, I know his family well.

Montagu Burrows.
i was wondering if you could tell me what type of gravestone this is. i can't tell if it is a tomb chest of some sort or simply a type of headstone. i think it is very unique and i'm hoping you'll be able to let me know. thank you.

I am not sure I understand your question but this is a rather common type of stone in England. It is made of granite and makes a shape of a cross. it is not flat.

What on earth are you talking about with that copy from the rules concerning other people's photos and copyright rules? I understand copyright rules very well and didn't need to blasted about something I didn't do. I believe an apology is in order. I did NOT post my photo of the headstone as it the same as one that was already posted by FRRoss. I did post two pictures of the entire grave stone at the family plot. I don't know if this is what you are refering to at the "entire registry" or what but I tried to fulfill you request.

Hi Orleans,
A tomb chest are new words for me. I've never thought of it as that. It is in a prominent position in the cemetery--when we walk we always walk by it.

I really don't know. I thought it was just an elaborate bench as so many people are putting them in place nowadays. However, it could easily be an extended tomb chest. Sorry I couldn't be of more help and like you I loved the inscription as my granddaughter and I often use it or "love you the mostest"

RE: re: ginny barry
I'm not sure of the exact difference, but I'm guessing that a crypt is a large wall space and a niche is a small space? If that is the case, Ms. Barry's is a crypt space.

RE: re: laura geddes baldwin
Laura's husband Harvey is not in Oakwood; he is at Rose Hill in a huge vault. He died quite a bit after her, so I am assuming that her family buried her. She is in the interment records for Oakwood so I would say she is not in the vault. the stone is flat in the ground, although I cannot say that it started out that way. I think it is lovely and was astounded that it was so easy to read.

RE: re: gary burns
No, I did not post my picture as what I had was the same as what is already there, taken by someone named FRRoss. It includes the headstone and inscription on the grave cover-stone. I'm not sure what else you are looking for.
