It's such a wonderful thing that you are doing, Michael!! I'm toying with the idea of doing the same thing at Gate of Heaven cemetery, in Rockville, MD, where many of my immediate family members are buried and also St. Michael's Poplar Springs, in Mt. Airy, MD. :) But, I feel I should become a much better photographer, to do justice to the departed and their families.

Thank you, Michael, for the precious gift of the photo of my great grandmother's final resting place. And it was taken so recently (less than a month ago). It's curious that she was buried with her daughter, a fact I never knew, and another nugget of information, thanks to you. I know how rundown the cemetery is and this may be the only record to be had. There are other Dentz family members purported to be in Holy Rood. I'll hope that you'll find them, someday. Thank you, again, from the bottom of my heart!!

Absolutely my pleasure. Too many forgotten soldiers who are lost to their families. Pat in MN

Thank you for contacting me regarding the Wimsett/Hilleary gravestone. The spelling on the memorial for John Wimsett has been corrected.
My database includes many Hilleary family members that I am working on for Findagrave in order to help others. They are not all my immediate line. I will now check Holyrood often to see if any family members have gravestones. With so many of our local Md. and DC cemeteries that have been vandalized, it is exciting to see the photos that have been photographed by Findagrave members.
Thank you for taking the time to take the excellent photos, they are appreciated!

Michael, Thanks for getting Rita's marker photo. The mystery continues for the interchange between the surname Whalen and Whelan use in the family. And it really shows the deplorable condition of Holy Rood Cemetery. PAX, Blessings to you and yours, Patrick O'Flaherty, Delaware, Ohio.

Michael, what a wonderful thing for you to do. I'm truly impressed with the new photos and love the one with the canon. Thank you so very much. On the computer I enlarged the one with all the headstones and can still read his marker. Marvelous!!!

|connie jansen||re: John Potter at Holy Rood Cemetery|
Hi Michael, I know there is a discrepancy on the stone. The question is which is incorrect, his birth date or his age. My Potter relatives made a number of errors on tombstones. I have been to Georgetown University library to research the Holy Trinity records, however they don't mention his age. His obituary says he was 71. For the time being, I'm going to leave the dates as they are on the stone. I have a suspicion that the age of 70 is what is incorrect.
Thanks for noticing though.

Outstanding! Good way to display both of them also...I'm glad you were able to located him. I hadn't been able to get back there so this worked out well. For the record Minnie & Adolf ran their own business but she kept a share in her late fathers trade which her brother dissolved in 1927.

Thank you for the photo of the site listed above. It is a beauty!
A question for you......it looks like there is also a Scherer site to the left of this one, but it's much smaller and hard to see with all the grass and leaves in the way. Is it possible to get a photo of this site too, please?
Thank you for your help and quick responses. We appreciate you so much.

Although we were hoping for more information on Loraine's headstone, we want to thank you, Michael Walsh, for taking that beautiful photo for our family. It's very neat - very clear - just lovely. She died so young....
Thank you for all you do for so many like us who would not have access or are unable to do this ourselves. We appreciate your kindness and willingness.

Thanks for trying. Relatives told me She is buried there. I will do some researching. Also sometimes the Italian spelling is used that is confusing. I still thank you for your effort
