RE: Renkema
You're welcome.

Some years ago a friend and I decided to take pictures and transcribe graves with Dutch names at several Cook County cemeteries. We posted around 10,000 names at Interment.net. When I discovered FindAGrave I started adding many of the pictures there. Lately, though, I've been more generic and have stayed working at Forest Home which is close to where I live.

Thanks for asking.

Hi,

Berend is also at Mount Hope next to her. I've added a photo that I had taken. Don't know how I missed adding it earlier.

You're welcome. I generally try to avoid the office at all costs. I don't know the exact location, but he is in section 76 if you ever get back there.

Okay - I have removed John & Josie as her parents and removed Bussema maiden name from her moemorial and removed the obituary. In its place I added a note that she is not one of the 13 children of John & Josie and that the only one of the children with that last name was Grace. I also added your findagrave ID & contributor number as a source. Hope this meets with your approval. Thanks so much for contacting me to correct this memorial.

Got your message about connecting a person with the wrong obit. Just to make sure I have things straight before I do anything else, are you saying that her parents are not Josie & John and that her maiden name is not Bussema and that she was probably not born in Netherlands? If so, I will make those changes, delete the posted obit, and make a note in her bio that her parents are not Josie & John and that her maiden name was not Bussema. Please let me know. Thanks for the info.

RE: Dr jan van lonkhuyzen
I think that family members of both of our ancestors attended his 25th anniversary at the church, which is how they received his pamphlet.

RE: Dr jan van lonkhuyzen
Dr jan van lonkhuyzen is also in the Dutch Chicago Book. I donated this pamplet to Calvin College, incase you wish to see the original. I did want to post it on findagrave. I have no English translation, but I do feel that I am related to him by his first wife. Have not yet figured that out. Are you related?

I tried to get my LUCHTENBURG family person to help me identify the family photos that were in the huge box. Unfortuately, I found out later that the person I gave them to to help me identify them was upset that the original person gave them to me in the first place and therefore, has decided not to tell me who they are. Bummer.

Please keep in mind that these messages are public, and you may not want to leave them out there forever. It may be best to print the ones you want to keep and then delete them.

I will be uploading more memorials next month. I have photos of Hamtra and Kooi markers. Not sure if they are family members that you are looking for.

RE: Family relations.
Yes. The published genealogies that have been donated are on their web page. I usually ask about a specific couple to see if they have any family information that can help me in my search. They will charge you a copy and mailing fee, or you can go there any use their copier at a reduced rate.

RE: Family relations.
I understand. All items of Dutch ancestry are available to be archived at Heritage Hall, Calvin College, Grand Rapids, Michigan. All of the items I have will eventually end up there. So, if you change your mind, you can always email them.

Would you be interested in copies of funeral cards? I have Grace and Peter Luchtenburg's.

Re: Charlotte Anderson
Thank you for looking into this for me. My only source for her burial location is from the "Cook County, Illinois, Deaths Index, 1878-1922" and "Illinois, Deaths and Stillbirths Index, 1916-1947." Cemetery name: Arlington. Is there another Arlington Cemetery in Chicago? Or is this Arlington Heights not the Arlington being referred to? Her husband Andrew Anderson is buried in Mt. olive Cemetery.

RE: Family relations.
Definately. I should be ready to mail my requests out this week. It may take some time for family to get back to me. I have six family members that I am writing to regarding the photos. I will keep you posted.

RE: Family relations.
I have just recently received a 50 gallon tub of photos and records that my Luchtenburg family member had collected during her lifetime. I am in the process of identifying photos and locating all of the markers.

RE: Family relations.
Yes, I am 100% West Side Dutch, 3rd generation. If there is a specific individual that you would like me to explain my relation to, I can do that, as I am related in some way to these Dutch families. We might even be distantly related. I have recently uploaded my file from Forest Home Cemetery, but have not done the family links, uploaded cemetery photos or family photos. I plan to do that this winter. All of the other cemetery markers from the other cemeteries are linked with photos that I have to the best of my ability.

Thanks for trying to find the grave. As you pointed out, this is an older cemetery with worn stones...and it may be she never had one since it was an infant death. I will withdraw the photo request until I have more information to add. But thank you for the time out of your schedule to hunt for it. M.Andersen
