RE: Swanns and Swans in WV
All I have is "B. and I. Swann" whom everyone assumes is Benjamin and Isabella Swann, listed as parents of Thomas Rezin Swann on his death record. Leven Covington Swann was his older brother (or 1/2 bro) by about 12 years. I will be glad to share information with you on my line (Leven C.).

RE: Higgbottom Cemetery
No I am not related to the Swanns. I am related to the Galyen's that were living in Caroline county.

Hi Phil,
I am a descendant of Samuel Swan & Mary Ball Swan, buried in Keenesville Illinois. Do you have any information on them besides what's listed on the findagrave page? I'm trying to find out who his parents are, but have been having trouble....

Regarding the Swan inquiry

First: my understanding is the Hughes families came from Donegal, Ulster, Ireland, with the Swans & the McClains. And they intermarried with all. My 4th great grandmother is Elizabeth SWAN, spouse of Major Thomas Hughes of Greene, PA

The Hughes didn't get in with English connections until they married with the Curl line from VA.

John Swan b1721 is my 5th great grandparent.

I have the data you gave me in our tree; but nothing of Edward, or James. Nothing of the father of John 1696.

So explain more through my Find A Grave e-mail.

Hi Phil, I am happy to transfer your Great Grandfather to you. It makes all the time I spend sitting on my caboose in front of this computer searching for the soldiers of the 85th Illinois Infantry worth while when family comes along.
I know he is in good hands.
All the best,
