Oh My Goodness.. I just noticed in my husband's email that you fulfilled a photo request for a very important gravestone to my son-in-law. This is his Great Grandmother. There are several family members in his family tree within Calumet Park Cemetery... including his baby sister who died at birth. He would Love to have photos as he now lives in Oregon, which makes viewing them quite difficult. Do you live in the Merrillville area? I can't tell you how much he appreciates this photo. Thank you.

Thank you for the photo of Mr. Hughes headstone.

I sent this along to the memorial owner as an update

Mr. Hughes was a member of a B-29 flight crew during WWII. Specifically, he was with the 792nd Bomb Squadron, 468th Bomb Group (The Billy Mitchell Group), 58th Bomb Wing, 20th Air Force. He flew on Harris G. Clark's crew. One of the planes he flew in was serial 42-24691 (Fast Company).

Thank you so much. Brian's older brother and family still live up in Hobart. They go to the cemetery for birthdays and holidays and send me pics. The Family Bench was created by my husband he built a butterfly garden around it, it is a wonderful place for us to remember our family. I wanted to share something with you. The kids were killed on I-65 SB on 6-26-2009 a police chase was involved and because the road warriors were not where they were supposed to be. ( on the interstate warning oncoming traffic the truck driver said there was a small hill that he couldn't see over caused him to be "surprised" and he ran into the rear end of my sons four door red dodge pick up truck filled with everything they would néed to come down to FL where we live. This was going to be the first time we would meet Ryan our latest addition to the family. I have been disabled for many years and was invited by my beautiful daughter in law Jo to come up and be there for his birth. I booked a ticket and when the time came I was in the hospital. While they were down here in June 09 we were planning Tyler's Golden Birthday he would have turned 9 on July 9,2009 That never happened. Before we were able to make the arrangemts to get up there ASAP her parents had already made ALL funeral arrangements and hired an attorney. They threatened us, bullied us and manipulated so many things I had no idea that they could make all this happen and completely take over, stripping the kids home of everything. Brian's brother was the only one given a key to the house but after her family along with Brian's brother went together in their house they bullied my son screaming at him my son decided to make a key for them trying to be kind and they did so many despicable things I was in shock. The probate case is still open I hired our own attorney but once I paid them they stopped communication and here I am today just trying to get my copies of the memorial guest books the funeral home made especially for me and they took them too! The kids were married for 14 years. I saw her family members 4 times in those 14 years. I went up frequently and would be there for any where between 2-10 days and they never came over? So sorry I have rambled on for so long Please forgive me. Thank you for your time. Sincerely Lisa Gennarelli

I have the location on her page I created, but I have never been there. It says internment so maybe inside rather than in the ground. Try and get a photo when you find her. I wish I could be more help, but I know she is there. I remember the funeral. I'm the little boy in the picture I put on her page

Good evening Rose. I wanted to thank you immensely for your photo of Mr. Bixenman's grave. I "dropped the ball" on my promptness in thanking you. I pride myself on my manners, and I apologize for not acknowledging your kindness sooner. Thank you ma'am again, so much!

RE: Ladislaus Brnicky
Sorry I can't provide more info right now. I have several documents on this family. I believe that I have the actual obit listing Ladislaus in this cemetery but I will have to dig it out. I am currently in nursing school and all of my family history work has been put on the back burner. I do know that Bernicky is not the actual spelling of their last name. It was originally Brnicky but when they came over from Czechslovakia, it was changed to make it easier to pronounce. I have the actual records where they came over on the boat as well as some war cards. There is not a memorial for Sophie. She is actually the second wife of Joseph so therefore no blood relations to my husband or his family. Long story best untold, but Joseph did not leave the best legacy so we don't delve too far in to that side of the family. Sophie came into the picture long after all of the children were out of the home. We do have several records that were passed down through the family so we have pieced together as much as possible. Thanks again for the pictures.
