RE: #101601127
That is a question you might be better able to answer. If the dates on the old stone are correct this person lived 119 years. My skepticism suggested that the dates on the old stone are incorrect, either the 1828 or the 1947 or both. do you have any info on Lewis's father that may clarify the headstone dates?

From The Boyds
Mrs. Shepherd,

I want to thank you for putting up all those pictures of the Boyd family. I came across this website completely by accident and I was blown over when I stumbled across the page for my great-grandfather Henry Tilden Boyd. I am the eldest granddaughter of Darwin Boyd (his son Kit is my dad), so I guess that makes us cousins :). I loved seeing all those pictures of my great-grandparents, my great-aunts (who I would have loved to have met), and the picture of my great-uncle from when he was a kid. It's so nice to see pictures from my grandpa Darwin's side of the family, and I'll make sure to show him some of these pictures when I see him this weekend.

RE: Found Your Family!
Hello Deb,
First I want to apologize for not responding sooner. Due to "life circumstances" I had to put my search on hold for a while. I just read a few of your messages containing information that I found very exciting! I can't believe you've provided me with phone numbers! I want to send you my most sincere thanks for your part in taking the time to get this information for me! I am so appreciative and grateful! My 17 year old son is very interested in learning more about my dad and wants to make the day trip with me to visit the grave.
Thank you again for all of your help and please know that you have made a huge difference in our lives in providing your services.
God bless you & your family!

I love going down there to go and see where my mom and dad both were raised up at. right now the floods are bad down there. I like it down there. RE: my grandparents
my grandpaw Jimmy Lee Pattons dad's name was James K Patton Salyer. but he went by his mothers madian name which was Patton. His dad was Abner Salyers. after Albert Salyers wife died James K Pattons mom got married to him. so that's where the Pattons name came from. and the Salyers name to. One of my first cousins name was James Patton he did a lot of research on this and found out all of this info. my mom's parents were Jimmy Lee Patton Salyers and Alice Barnett. I have been to their graves in Breathitt Co Ky. and Alfred Rowe is also buried there to. I love going down there to visit. Eugene Pitts Is also some kin to me to. I am also kin to the Backs and the Risners and Rowes and Salyers Patricks and a lot more of the people down there.

Why Hello to My Family!
Hi! I am a descendent of Charles Rowe, his son Daniel was my great grandfather. I was wondering if we had any more information on Louese Trusty Rowe? I am having issues finding her on censuses.

RE: Oops
Thanks so much for all the info. Yes, Danny Shepherd is my friend Dennis' brother. It's all the same circle we're speaking of.

When I visited them the other day Dennis was adamant that I had the wrong death date for Mollie. He remembered exactly that she had died in 1963 in Indiana. When I came home and researched he was right on. Now I'm wondering why Dennis had such a vivid memory of Mollie's death because he was only 14 when she died. I'll have to ask him about that. He started telling me all about Mort & Mollie's home when he was a kid - and about the mountains & hills in Kentucky. Dennis was actually born in Indiana but sounds like he spent a lot of time visiting family in Kentucky.

Dennis' mom & dad were Woodloe & Cleo Shepherd and his siblings were Danny Kay Shepherd (1947), Deloris May (1948), Dennis Ray (1949) and Diana Faye (1950).

Looks like your husband already met Dennis' brother and it doesn't sound at this point that he would be interested in talking with Dennis. If Dennis is interested, can I provide him with Ed's contact info so he can communicate? Dennis is just getting into this ancestry stuff so he's hyped up about it right now. Danny spent years, but Dennis really didn't pay too much attention until now......

Sorry Deb - I just clicked on your picture and you called your husband "Ed" - for some reason I thought his name was Charles - maybe because the link on your page says contact Charles Shepherd and gives an email address...............

Your Husband
Deb - your husband, I assume is Charley Jr. On the find-a-grave for his dad Charley Shepherd (1915-1965) there are some pictures. Who are the people in the first picture? Is the second picture Charley Sr holding your husband as a child?

RE: Mort & Mollie Shepherd
Great - my friend Dennis is also the grandchild of Mort & Mollie Shepherd.

What did you say your husband's name is?

My friend Shari & Dennis asked me to create an ancestry album for each of their sons for Christmas so that is what I am working on. I visited them yesterday to view what I had completed so far, and Dennis caught that I had picked up the wrong death document for Mollie - so he told me she had died in 1963 in Silver Lake, Wabash County, Indiana. I found the correct document this morning. But while he was telling me about it, he started reminiscing about childhood and Kentucky & Indiana....... It was his home until he joined the Marine Corps. Anyway, maybe your husband would like to talk with him and see what they can remember together. If your husband is willing, I can ask Dennis...........

Mort & Mollie Shepherd
Hi Deb: I've been research my best friend's husband on ancestry for him. You have a memorial for some members of his family tree (Shepherd). You mention your husband is from the Shepherd's and Howard's also. If you check out my Shepherd family tree in ancestry, you will see that my friend (Dennis Shepherd) is a decendant of Mort & Mollie's son Woodloe Shepherd who married Cleo Colleen Olinger and had 4 kids - Dennis is one of them (born 1949). Where does your hubby fit in that family and what is your husband's name? They might like to talk with each other possibly.
