Hi Jan,

While researching on, I found the Find A Grave link to my great-uncle's tombstone. Ironically, he died the same year as his brother, my grandfather Roman. I have to assume that the request came from a Barba family relative. If there is any way that I could be put in contact w/this person to discuss family genealogy, I would appreciate it. Please let me know if we could make this happen. Thank you so much.

Hi, Jan- my name is Debbie. This grave belongs to my Grandfather's uncle Michael. I was wondering if I could take over management. I know I have done it before with other graves, but I could not find the link on the website to make the request. Could you pls tell me how to do it? Thanks!

RE: Kavanaughs
I would like to manage the Kavanaugh memorial since I intend to photograph all 6 of their children's headstones. They are all buried in the same cemetery.
Thanks for your help,

Thanks for posting photos of my grandparents'

Hi Jan,
Please do not transfer his parents to me. I'm working only on Marines KIA in Vietnam.

RE: Greenleaf Cilley & Questn if Gen. Jos Cilley Rev War Script in OH was Colerain Twp,Ham.Co.,OH?
Hello Jan S. -- Thanks again! I have pondered your question about whether the land on which Dorcas Butler Cilley's family lived, actually was given to her husband's father (Jonathan's dad, Joseph Cilley) as a result of his Revolutionary War Service. It is a fascinating question, but sadly, I do not seem to know the answer--nor do I believe that I have tackled the Ohio land question ever (nor their origins). So, I am hoping that perhaps you know what land in Ohio General Joseph Cilley (Jonathan's father) received, and also what land Jonathan himself was awarded for his own service (separate from his father's) and that it matches the land adjacent to the Elias Hedges/Elizabeth Gaston farm, now known in part, as Hedges Cemetery at Dunlap Station, near the small river spanning bridge heading to Venice, Ross Twp, Butler Co, OH. A large Proctor & Gamble facility is near here on one side, as is the new Heritage Park, Colerain Twp, Hamilton Co. OH. In hopes of helping you to answer this, I dropped by the Hamilton Co Recorders Office today and glanced at the fading, tough to read, microfilm cartridges with the early land deed index. The ancient and newer microfilm printers were virtually disfunctional, so I have no deeds to view today...

Importantly, today I jotted down on my phone, these twelve Cilley related early land deed entries from several (not all) index pages, in hopes that perhaps you (or anyone out there?) have seen the actual deeds and deciphered all of this...but in any event to advance our mutual cause. Thx in advance for any insight into the revolutionary war script/bounty land in Ohio issue. I am interested in the subject. This list is sort of Grantor, Grantee, Book number, page number format-- deeds themselves are on different microfilm cartridges, Recorders Office.

1. Benj. Cilley  Bk 5. p48
Wm H Covert

2. Benj Cilley, Bk5 p530
John Sample

3. J Cilley
Wm Helms (a guess at fading cursive?), Bk G2, p431

4. J Cilley. John Davis Bk F p217?

5. J Cilley. J Williams Bk G p133

6. J Cilley. Chas Avery Bk G2 p655 or 665 or nearby?

J Cilley. Thom Jefferson  Bk G p305 (looks like President Thomas Jefferson)

8. J Cilley. J Cilley heirs.   Bk G p306
9. J Cilley. Findlay, Burnett, et al  Bk G p308?

10. J Cilley or heirs of... Grantor but
J Cilley also named as grantee
Bk G p306

11. J Cilley. Jos Hough. Bk I p471 maybe. All tough to read.

12. Jos Cilley
Rawlings and Cilley or carter? or ? Bk I p330 around? Could not read but pages in approximate sequence for book I.

These are quick notes, so errors will exist here. Thx. DBardes.

RE: Greenleaf Cilley
Hello Jan S-- Thanks for writing! Sure, using my Cilley pictures in your family tree is fine! I too am a Cilley & Butler descendant, of the New Hampshire to Ohio lines (Dorcas Butler m. Jonathan Cilley), so perhaps we are distant cousins.

Thanks a lot for the picture of William. Now if I could only find the burial locations of his descendants/my ancestors - that would be great!
