Mary Ann Richardson Carter was my great-great-great-grandmother. I noticed you posted a picture of her on her memorial I have never seen. Thank you so much for posting it! How did you come across the picture??? Are you related to her?

Thanks,
Jamie N. Holt

Sorry I forgot to ask you this, I know she was married and that her husband is still alive but do you remember if he had a marker with his name beside Delois.

Thanks

Nina Lee CARTER
Larry... FYI: I am a 4th cousin, 2 generations distant, from Nina Lee CARTER ZIGLAR. I assume you are her son if I recall correctly? If so, we are 5th cousins, one generation apart. It is the CARTER line back to Stokes County that we have in common if I have it all correct via Henry James CARTER who would be my 5th great grandfather and your 4th great grand father. I have been out there on 3 trips trying to locate the graves of my William F. Moore who married Elizabeth CARTER (daughter to Henry James CARTER and Sarah WHITE CARTER. This why I took photos of your family graves. I can mail you a copy of my research if your interested.

RE: In appreciation
Larry... I just took another look at this . It appears we would be distant blood cousins. I may be able to share information to you on our common ancestor if you have interest. I'll get back later today when I am at my research data on this connection.

Mt. Pisgan
You can't believe how grateful I am for you doing this. I have undertaken doing the cemetery where my father, aunts, grandparents, etc are buried. Over 25,000 graves, only 6,000 listed of which I've added half. Most of the rest from obits from the Charlotte.
If interested, have a church on the west side of Alexander county which I've never gotten around photographing. Once you finish Mt. Pisgah, let me know if your interested. I have all the pictures, just not the time.
I've just been through my third camera in four years photographing graves. For every grave posted I usually have taken 3 pictures. So, that is somewhere between 30,000 & 40,000 pictures I've taken in five years. Makes me tired just thinking about it.
Several years ago a suggestion was made to me which I try to follow. I haven't looked at your pictures so don't know if you are interested. Many families are trying to find a loved one in a mass of graves in a cemetery. For the last couple of years I always include two pictures. One of course is the grave stone. Then I back up and take a general shot of where the grave is located in the cemetery. Have heard from others they appreciated that additional step as they were just passing through but could not remember exactly where in the cemetery the grave was located.
Just wanted to pass on some information which I have found useful.
Keep up the good work,
Robert

Mt. Pisgah
Hello Larry,
Thanks for the picture. I took my pictures years ago. Go by there at least once a month. My pictures were taken before I had a photo processing software. Plus it was later in the day.
Are you taking all the cemetery, if not please do. I have 3,000 to 4,000 photos to process and it takes time as I link people together including spouses, parents and children when every possible. Just haven't had time to get to this cemetery.
Robert
