ID Military in Westlawn-Hillcrest
We are currently working to identify anyone buried in Westlawn-Hillcrest Cemetery Omaha NE that has served in the military. If you have a loved one buried there or know of someone, please send us a message. We place flags on the graves for Memorial Day. This project is sponsored by Centennial Masonic Lodge #326.

If you can send us the names, we will be sure to include them on our list to get a flag.

Thank you for the help with this ongoing project.

If you have already received this message, please accept our apologies for the duplicate message.

You are welcome, Dena. I'm glad I was able to locate his grave and get pictures. There are so many markers the have totally worn away.
Best Regards,

Yes! I was just beside myself when I found that. I am actually going to go to the Historical Society in Akron next week to try to find more information. As you know, this is quite addictive! Do you have an email address? Mine is

Peleg Hart
Hi D,

Peleg Hart is my 4 times Great Grandfather and I live very near where he is buried. I'd love to know how you are related to him. I recently visited his and Hannah's grave only to have to to dig it up again! This time it was broken in half and the top was outside the cemetery fence. It was clear the fence AND the sidewalk was moved in even closer to the graves. Sooo disrespectful. I was in touch with Dennis and he will be posting my story and my pics very soon.

RE: George Thomas McIntyre
You're very welcome. I'm not a McIntyre relation but they married into the Maynor family that I've been researching.

Hi Dena, I'm glad to have helped. Sadly, I'm not related to your family - just tied in through another line. Have a great day and thanks for the edits!

Hi D;

Amsden is Gertrude's Maiden Name, I think.

You might want to check out the three or four other Amsden names that I put up, that are right in the same area.

If you have others in SD, let me know.

RE: Vita Doris Wright
I don't know ? She was originally buried in California in 1976, then moved to Roseburg in 1977, according to the note on the memorial. There are many Wright's buried in Roseburg or possibly she has parents buried there. Her maiden name was Patterson, and from birth info, her birth name was Vida Doris Patterson, born in McLennan county, Texas.

Walter is a 3rd cousin, 1 removed. Gary

Dr William Sterling "Bill" McClung
I spoke to someone at the city regarding the burial of William McClung in the City Greenwood Cemetery. Records are not available for the time frame that he was buried. I will continue the search with a call to the funeral home.
Thank you so much for your efforts in searching for his tombstone.

I am interested in the Obit published Jan. 2, 1940 San Diego Union that you posted as a note. Do you have it? I am in Florida. She may be married to my husband's granduncle Edward G. Millenbaugh #91546741. She had 5 kids. I do not like to register to sites to get information. Too much Internet invasion. Sorry!

Thanks in advance!

RE: George McIntyre
Your so welcome. It's hard to have to tell family members that there is no headstone for their loved one. He is in the Ext section of Acacia Place where the stones are all flat to the ground. I put his plot numbers on the photo in case you want to look into getting him a stone placed. If you do, i'll be more than happy to go back and photograph it for you.

All the best,

RE: John G. Fonda 20956427
I had not recalled at first, but I found an e-mail from last year with a photo of the military marker at Mt. Hope Cemetery. It had been buried under dirt/grass. The photo was poor quality and the owner did not want it posted on findagrave. I'm working to try and get a better photo for posting. See the new note I put on the memorial.

Thanks for the tip on the 1911 newspaper article. I've located a snipet in a couple of places, but a subscription is needed to get full copy of article. Do you have a way to obtain a copy? Much appreciated. Mark

Goolsby at Mt Hope
Emily Jane and Joseph F. Goolsby are both buried in the same grave location (a stacked burial) but there is no marker. Emily: Division 6, Section 3, Lot 184, Grave 3A and Joseph is Grave 3B. Unfortunately there is no marker. There is one grave between them and Mary Jane McIntyre. I will post a photo of the area and note under the photo the location in reference to Mary Jane's marker.

Hansen at Greenwood
Not sure this is your family but I noticed that there was a Walter Hansen(1917-2000) in the Bible Mausoleum. I was taking another photo and noticed the name. Let me know if this is any interest to you.
