Julia, Thank you so much for making memorial for these people. I think I have Moses those. Moses is my g-grandfather and is buried in Audubon Maple Grove Cem. But the two wife's are not. I met another relative of Moses, At reunion and told him Moses did not have a stone, so on way home to Texas, him, Wife and sister stopped there in Audubon and bought a stone for him. He added the wife's but they are in Illinois, Which is where we meet other relatives. Osceola Cem. In Stark Co Ill. His relatives are by first wife mine by 3rd. All three wife's are together in Elmira, Ill.If you would transfer Them to me I would leave them there but would leave a note about the above. Thank You so much. Sorry this is so long but I'm having trouble with e-mails right now.

RE: Gladys Wissler
Countryside Retirement Home is located in Morningside which is part of Sioux City, IA.
Thanks for the addition of the Obit to her memorial. You were very prompt in your response.

I spend a great deal of time trying to make corrections to memorials that I am not a part of. I have a complete file of funeral information of friends that have passed over the past years.

Many to the folks that have entered the incomplete information on their memorial have not responded to the corrections I have sent to them - many have gone undone for a couple of years.

Thanks again, we knew Gladys since 1968 when we attended her church in Sioux City.

RE: Orr Cemetery Sugar Run Road, Lee Co., VA
The Orr Cemetery I had listed is right behind a house on eastern side of Sugar Run Rd. I last visited it in 2002ish. I had seen where you posted about the other cemetery where Rhoda (Ely) Orr's parents are buried, but I am not sure where it is. If you look at the satellite map close in you can see the one with the David and Rhoda (Ely) Orr cemetery behind the house and what looks to be a long barn (I don't remember that from when I was there, but it could have been there). I have copies from a book that lists the graves in that cemetery. It doesn't list any Woodwards, but it does say there are 16 unmarked graves. I have heard that some of these are possibly slaves owned by the family, but I have not seen any written evidence of that.
My husband and I think we found the one with John and Barbara Ely. The farm road is .6 of a mile from the WEST side of Sugar Run Rd where it comes off of Beech Springs Rd (SR 899). Looks like the road is between two houses. It goes back through a field. Right past the pond (on the left side) and before the hairpin turn the cemetery is on the right about 200 ft from the road/trail. Almost positive these are the coordinates: 36.708700, -83.238175.

Jessie Woodard Grabill
Hi Julie,

I am not related to Jessie Woodard Grabill. I like to photograph the tree headstones when I see them. I was visiting Belleville in May so I photographed all of the tree headstones in Walnut Hill Cemetery. One thing I have learned by taking these photos is that this one is a Woodmen of the World Memorial, which means Jessie was a member of that organization. Here is a link to the history of Woodmen of the World
https://www.woodmen.org/about/history.cfm

Have you tried looking for information on Jessie on Ancestry.com or Familysearch.org? Familysearch.org is free to search.

If you want, I can transfer the memorial of Jessie to you since I am not a relative. I hope you find out more information about him and his family.

Sarah

Hello Julia:

Thank you for posting the grave marker for my ancestor, Cassius Casper Henton who married Hannah Ann (Sisk) Henton.

I would like to communicate further with you regarding this Henton family - they were the parents of my Thomas Yarnall Henton who moved to Missouri in the 1930s.

Thank you, Margie Hinton - California

RE: Dimick gravestone photos
Julie, Thank you again...I am sure that in your "spare" time you will find a way to work on Exira Cemetery data and photos. It does mean quite a lot to those of us who don't travel to have someone provide information concerning family.

I noticed on your profile a few small world facts...Both of us were raised on farms..My wife was a Finn Sheep breeder and raised them for their wool and I was a Jersey cow farmer raising them to augment the milk producing neighbors, by adding their butterfat rich milk to the Holsteins quantity gave a better overall product. Our farms were organic and used "traditional" methods. I actually spent many an hour behind the south bound end of a north bound horse doing work about the farm. Both of us are "retired" on a small 22 acre farmstead where we grow our own to carry us through the winter months. Basically still homesteading.
