Memorial Transfer
I see you did the memorial for Richard Weston, who sadly passed away. I was wondering if you know how I go about transferring a memorial he had for my grandfather. Since I can't request from Richard the transfer, how do I do that? Thanks

Frank Shoemaker Baldy memorial
Frank S. Baldy died in 1896. He is not the Frank married to Margot in the later census. That Frank is the son of Paul Baldy of Schoolcraft. That is verified by the grandchild in that census, Viola Kenzie, daughter of Clara Baldy Kenzie Abbott of Flint.
Frank S. Baldy committed suicide in Chicago according to Cook County records and newspapers.

Douglas Donihue
Douglas Donihue # 115305420 is the son of John Arthur Donihue # 159479358 and not the son of Leslie Sumner Donihue # 52158993 and Estella Agnes Spangler Donihue. In John's obituary a listing of his four children is given and Douglas was his first born child who passed away as an infant. I am a first cousin once remover to John Arthur Donihue.

I have entered several of my Donihue family members on Find A Grave.

Would you please correct the lineage of Douglas as a sibling to John and list him as a son.

Thank you, Beverly Baker Keicher

We must have been in touch at some point, as you transferred Andrew Speer's memorial to me (and perhaps others) - I just noticed that.

Speer DuBois family
Your knowledge of the Speer and DuBois lines on Edith Speer Dibble's memorial is impressive. Can you tell me where you found the info about Mariba Speer? Also I was unaware that John D. Speer died in Wisconsin. Were you aware that Henry T. Speer was married previous to Abigail DuBois and had two children by this first marriage? I have many documents from the Speer and DuBois line that have come down to me. I am working with someone to have them posted on Wikitree. We are calling it the DuBois Speer Collection. It involves the families' attempts to become involved in the Anneke Jans debacles. They hired a lawyer in 1866 to go east and find church proofs and records to establish their pedigree. It was spearheaded by David H. Speer and James Hicks (husband of Sarah DuBois). Do you know anything about this story? I have the original will of Johannes (John) Speer (father of Thomas Speer) written in 1776, also a will written by Martin DuBois (although likely not his final will as it was written in New York). Edith Dibble was a member of the DAR if I am not mistaken. Sorry for the rambling message me back if you are interested in the topics I mention. Adam

I just walked about the Lake View Cemetery trying to find the gravesites of the two above people. I couldn't identify where Block L is located. I am in Hillsdale this weekend (June 11, 2016) and would like to locate these two sites. Anges Mary was married to the son of a granduncle.

Can you give me more information as where I can find these gravesites?

Maggie Ostranders given name was Margaret Amanda Payne at birth. First marriage was to Nathan Baldwin. 2nd marriage was to a A. Ostrander. I have records from Canada's Office Of The Registrar Generali Toronto showing her birth document, also the 1892 census where she was Na than Baliens wife. It was common it seems, for women to go by their middle or nicknames, I have found since starting my families Geneology. Although she went by Maggie. I do not know if there is away to incorporate her given name in with her memorial. So that those that look for her later will be Ble to find her. She died at a young age giving birth to her 4th and last child. I put the picture on the page with help of a friend. Maggie was my great great grandmother. Gerri Parkison.

RE: Declined update
Thank you so much for taking the time to send me this information.. I truly appreciate it.. I also wanted to pass on to you (although you probably already know this) that it appears that there were several alternate spellings of the surname 'Kind/Kint/Kindt/Kent' which threw me off on my search.. I did end up finding Simon, son of Simon & Anna Hohenschild Kint/Kind & the brother of Margaret Kind & Elizabeth Kind Fox (the 2 wives of Jacob Kintigh)in Northampton county PA. His memorial number is #53923612.. I also am planning a trip to the Louden Cemetery as soon as weather permits to see if Simon Sr. is buried there with his wife Anna Hohensshild Kind #94867361.. Records aren't showing that he is, but the cemetery surveys are sometimes incomplete and lost folks can be found upon closer inspection of the plot. I'll let you know if I find him..

Thanks again..

Sandi L.

Memorial # 121921708 Samuel B. Dyer
Hi, Question for you, you have the parents for Samuel B. Dyer, Memorial # 121921708, as Samuel Dyer & Lucretia Evans, but according to the Michigan Death Index on his parents are Samuel Dyer & Abigail Fogg. What is your source for your information? If you find that this Samuel B. Dyer is in fact the son of Samuel B. Dyer (mem. # 119935646) & Abigail Fogg (mem. # 119935910) would you please link him to this couple. Thanks, Diane

Hueston in Hillsdale Mi
Originally the name was Huston For some reason , the children changed it.

This is what I found and also have marriages with the name Huston.

Alexander HUSTON

From the Portrait & Biographical Album of Hillsdale Co., Mich., 1888, p.347.

Alexander HUSTON is a successful farmer and stock-raiser on section 28, Cambria Twp. His farm has been in his possession for over twelve years and comprises 100 acres of land, well stocked with sheep, cattle and horses, the latter being of a first class breed.
Alexander is a native of Shelby Twp., Richland Co., OH, born 6/3/1842, the youngest of the three children born of his father's two marriages. His father is now living in retirement in the village of Cambria.
When Alexander was about four years old, the family moved to Williams Co., OH where he was reared and educated.
Alexander early established a home for himself in Williams Co. when he was married to Letticia ERVIN on 6/7/1866. She was the daughter of Armstrong and Mary A. (MOUREY) Ervin who are now living in West Unity Village, Williams Co., in retirement from the active duties of farming.
They are natives, respectively, of OH and PA, married in Wayne Co., OH, and later settled in Crawford Co., OH, where Letticia was born 12/22/1845. She was eight years old when they removed to Williams Co., where she was reared and educated. The Ervins had four sons and five daughters of whom two sons and three daughters are now (1888) living. Letticia was the fifth child.
Letticia and Alexander had one son, John W., born 8/23/1873.
After their marriage Alexander and Letticia continued to live in OH for some years where he was actively engaged in farming. Subsequently, they moved across the border into Mich. and have since been residents of Cambria Twp. where they enjoy the esteem and friendship of the entire community.
In politics, Mr. Huston is a true Democrat and loses no opportunity to use his influence for the benefit of the party.

Alexander HUSTON

[NOTE: The following is an extract of the original sketch]

Letticia was born 22 Dec 1845 in Crawford Co., OH. In 1854, Letticia's family moved to Williams Co., OH. Letticia was one of five daus. and four sons (not named).
Letticia and Alex had one child, John W. HUSTON, born 23 Oct 1873. Their farm was on 100 acres of section 28 of Cambria Twp., Hillsdale Co.
