Levy Sapp
Last March you posted a death certificate on Levy Sapp's memorial Find A Grave Memorial# 60291451. It has a large black border around it.

Find A Grave guidelines state to crop off the borders in photos before posting.

Would please consider cropping that black border off that photo and reposting the document? To help you with this, I can forward you a photo that has already been cropped and ready to post if I had an email address.

RE: Crane not Croswell
I can not find a Thomas Crane born in 1831 as living in Blue Earth County, MN. I can't find any records of any Thomas H Crane ever living in Minnesota. I also can't find any record of a Thomas H Crane in the Minnesota death records. There was a Thomas Crane who died in 1939 that does not have a middle initial, but that was in Redwood County.

The dates you have listed are the same dates for Thomas Henry Croswell. He is also found in both the Garden City and the MN death records.

If you have other Crane family who is also buried at Garden City, I would be happy to go back out there to look and to verify that you have the correct cemetery. It is not too far for me to go back there. But all the records I have available to me indicate he was never here.

Jewels= I've transferred this memorial over to you- as you seem to have a better knowledge of this burial. I would suggest -you might wish to contact Find A Grave member- Nancy Lane- who has the memorial for Frederick Bloomingdale- she might be able to help sort this out.

RE: Re: Rake Cemetery
I do not see Hockenberry mentioned in your previous message. If you have been to or received information from the Marietta branch of the Washington County Public Library's Genealogy Department, they would have access to source materials. I have been to Rake Cemetery once to photograph requests for Find A Grave. I did not document the entire cemetery. I have transcribed McKitrick's readings of Washington County Cemeteries into spreadsheets and uploaded them to Find A Grave, so if I created the memorial, and it is in Washington County, Ohio, that is likely the source.

Hi Jewels Verne! Thank you for the message, but I am not clear on what exactly it is that you need my assistance with? Would be glad to help if I can....

RE: Re: Ebers

I added records for the following Ebers:

Gideon F -
Marie M -
Charles M -
Leo J. Whatley -

There was a Helen also with no death date so I didn't create a page for her (assuming she hasn't passed away and according to Joan's obituary she did not). Joan's obituary (posted on her page) indicates her husband was Fred, who I did not see on this gravestone (or in the near vicinity).

Let me know if you want ownership of these pages.

RE: New Saint Peter Cemetery
You are welcome. It was a beautiful day for taking pictures. I am glad to know that the photograph was useful. I have learned a lot from gravestones, which is why I decided to take pictures for people who are not nearby.

I have added the photo to Mary's memorial.

I, unfortunately, assumed--along with the office manager--that Joseph and Helen were in the same plot. Saint Peter, as you can imagine, is a HUGE cemetery. The good thing is that it is new and the stones are very readable--unlike the cemeteries I usually visit. However, it is imperative that I have a section and plot number. Even then, they are sometimes not easy to find. The names on the plot plans by section are so small that I need to use a magnifying glass to read them.

When I put in the original request for nine grave lots, I visited the cemetery office and dropped off the names. It was two months before I received the response. Both Rogalskis were listed in the same plot, but I did not see Helen. I have requested this information so as soon as I hear back from them, I will go back and add Helen's picture.

RE: Joseph Zoller - St. Xavier Cemetery
Checked out the gravestone today and I could not see any other names on the other sides. Either there never was any or they are so weathered off that they are unreadable. Couldn't make out any letters or numbers!

Thank you for the updates, but I still have to show the date that's on the headstone according to Find a Grave rules. Blessings. :)

RE: Need your help
I have found some info for you.
I asked a genealogist in Belpre and she found his death cert. at the courthouse in Marietta. He died in 1955 in Marietta. The death cert says he is buried in Rockland Cem.
She checked the cemetery records and it shows that he probably has no gravestone.
I then went to the Parkersburg library and looked up his obit. It also says he is buried in Rockland Cemetery.
I have created a memorial for him and typed in the info from the obituary.

I am transferring him to you.

You could check with the Rockland Cemetery trustees to see if he does have a stone. I would guess that since he was single, his family already dead, no one was left to get a stone for him.
Let me know if I can help you further! I enjoy the hunt!!

Moses Cox
Hi Jewels,

I noticed that you maintain the page of Moses Wayne Cox. I was hoping to exchange information on he and his siblings with you. I believe his mother, Rachel Ribelin, to be an aunt of mine. An 1832 deed names her one of the heirs of Peter Ribelin; I descend from Peter's son, Isaac, who is also named in the deed. I am trying to get a better picture of Peter's descendants. Census records appear to indicate that William and Rachel had as many as 12 children, but I found only a few of those listed in the "History of Carroll County, Tennessee" book. If you would be willing to exchange information, please e-mail me at, or feel free to contact me however you prefer. I am sure as a professional genealogist that you are regularly bombarded with requests for information. I will try not to take up too much of your time, and to share as much as I receive. I have been attempting to extensively research all 6 known heirs of Peter Ribelin while trying to determine the 7th. I hope to hear from you!

RE: Directions for Riverview Cemetery
Just across the river from Marietta, Oh. Cross the Williamstown bridge, (not the Interstate 77 Bridge) and go past DaVinci's restaurant and then turn left onto Waverly Road out of Williamstown for .9 miles. The cemetery is on the right side of the road.

RE: Need your help regarding info. on St. John's Record Room
just a hint....the book I found the info in about the digging of the grave was on the bottom shelf and was in a small a treasurer's record book.
Probably would be hard to find unless you knew it was there.

Good luck!! Hope you find what you are looking for!!
