I thought I knew of all the Chases in Dow Corner... is Helen related to any of the following? Zenas, Isaac, Lois, Abigail...??

Nancy L Wood Hadaway
The stone you found would be for the daughter of John T and Lucetta Wood Hadaway (Nancy L).It has already been photographed for this site. John married 2 times to 2 Wood sisters: Nancy and Lucetta. The stone I was interested in was for Nancy Wood Hadaway. I was afraid there would not be one as she died in 1857. Apparently this was the case. Thanks for taking the time to go out there and look for me.

Sherry Edgar Scheurer
Edgar Cemetery
Hi Pam. Thank you SO MUCH for the offer to try to locate this cemetery. The only information I have about this cemetery is as follows:

" ELISHA EDGAR IS BURIED IN A FAMILY CEMETARY IN BETHLEHEM, GEORGIA. THE CEMETARY IS LOCATED OFF MANNING GIN ROAD TO PHILLIPS ROAD. THE CEMETARY IS APPEARS TO BE THE J. H. THOMPSON FAMILY CEMETARY. ABOUT 10 OF THE THOMPSON FAMILY MEMBERS ARE BURIED IN THE SMALL FAMILY CEMETARY. ELISHA EDGAR HAS A CONFEDERATE STATES HEAD MARKER."

I hope this can be helpful in some way. I am very anxious to see pictures from this cemetery if it can be located.

RE: Old Ewing Chapel Baptist Cemetery
Hi Pam,
The location of the cemetery that you are looking for is located in the woods on the same side of the road as the church. There is an old logging road, just before you get to the church, that is very rutted and takes a four wheel drive vehicle. There is a wagon wheel mail box right at the road. I think it is 1565 Ewing Chapel on the mailbox. The cemetery is located right before the top of the hill on the left, just off the logging road. I visited back during the summer when it was very grown up. I did go back there just last week and took a look to see if I could find Hannah's headstone. She is my 5th great grandmother.

The only additional headstone that I found this trip was a base which had some broken pieces that I was able to scratch up from the pine straw near by. There was no way to identify this headstone, due to missing so many pieces.

When they did the logging, they fell trees across the cemetery, and there are still lots of trees laying around the cemetery. I am hoping that this winter that I can get in there and do some cleaning up, and see what else I can find.

Chris

Amanda King Hopkins Worrell
Hi Pamela - Thank you for the heads up. I have notified him of the duplication but I wonder what's going on because he linked his Amanda memorial to my memorial for her husband. You would think he would have seen my Amanda memorial. We'll see if he takes his down.

Thank you so much. The only thing I have to go by is the obituary that says "the church on the Alcovia Rd." I hope that you will be able to find them!
