Georgie Braun
Is Georgie a kin of the Brauns (Anna and Christian) whose grave marker I photographed today in Elmhurst Cemetery in Joliet, Illinois? If so, I snapped a photo of Georgie's stone. Need/want it?

RE: Joesph Jacobia
Thanks, I noted on his memorial in case I can find out. The dates don't match and not mentioned in obit. Must be other relatives tho. Could be another sister and brother not mentioned too.

Thanks for the extra effort it is so appreciated. Do you have dates, I think those are their parents. I've not been able to find his brother William or an obit and was hoping he was there also.

Thank you for sharing ;) I am related to Shirley's husband's mom, Jessie. Jessie was my grandfather's sister. Sherry and Don provided the fabulous pics of Shirley, she was adorable!

Done! Thank you for Shirley's parents ;) Are you related to Don and Sherry Bryant? They are my cousins through our respective grandparents. Janet

There's a great free site run by the Mormon Church that has alot of birth, marriage and death certificates. Check out:

I have found some amazing stuff there and filled in a lot of holes in my tree. That's where I found Oscar's death cert.

Have fun!

Oscar Johnson at Rosehill
Oscar is not buried near his parents. I did post his death certificate to his Find a Grave page is case you did not have it. If you call Rosehill they should be able to give you the location of Oscar's grave and then I can go back and photograph it. They won't give the info to me because I am not related. DO NOT mention Find a Grave when you call. Just say that you want the location.

Whew! I found the graves and have uploaded the photos.

The lot information you got is not posted at my end. So I went back to the clerk's office, thus solving the missing record mystery.

She showed me the book, and your Rheinfels are not in the book.

I reminded the clerk that you called her and were told they had the records. She suddenly remembered and gave me the other book which looks older and is non-alphabetical. Then because your Rheinfels were cremated, they are in a different section of the non-alphabetical book.

Their graves are in the "Cremations" section. If I had not gotten the lot information, it would have taken me 3 hours to find them in this very large cemetery. So you were a very big help in that you got the clerk to say they had the records.

I am posting this so that all can learn something from this. If the clerk says no, check with the funeral director if known, and then ask the clerk, "Isn't there another book?"

I'm glad this has been resolved.

RE: Walter Rheinfels
I just called them too and they found it. I suspect the page was out of the book for some reason. I will go there this afternoon, so many thanks for posting the location.

RE: Walter Rheinfels
I just checked the death date, and it is 2012, so I am wondering if the city clerk has not yet recorded it in her book. The city clerk's office holds all the cemetery records. However her book does not show any Rheinfels enteries. The book is about three inches thick.

The city clerk's phone number is 715-634-2311 and please feel free to let her know that yesterday (Sept 26) a lady came in to inquire, and both she and I looked through the listings.

Hopefully this will be resolved one way or another, and I will still be happy to take the photos if the graves are located.

PS Since the latest death was this year, it is possible there is no stone yet if there will be one.

RE: Walter Rheinfels
The city clerk which has the cemetery records could not find them in the book. I also checked the book and even checked the spellings. They are definitely not in the book. May I suggest that you contact that funeral home again and have them check with the city clerk? If the records are eventually located or something, I will be happy to look for the graves. It is a very large cemetery and could take an hour or two to walk through the entire place. I will report a problem here so whoever tries this again will know what to do. Let's continue to work together on this and hopefully someone else will step in to help out.
