RE: Larry J Rice memorial # 89296474
Jenell Chandler raised him and his sister from what I understand. I have been trying to learn the name of his father and where he is buried. If any of your friends or family know that I would appreciate the information. Thank you so much

You're very welcome. I didn't research it because they are not my bloodline, but I wonder if her husbands were related in some way. They are both Williams. I think they probably are. Maybe brothers or cousins.

Shelley, thank you for the information on this couple. Leroy is my 1st cousin once removed and has been a challenge. I think you are correct that they seem to be interred in the other cemetery. I have requested photos on those memorials and will compare before I delete my memorials. I've made a note on them in the meantime. Thanks for setting me on the right path!

Thanks Shelley!! When I saw the memorial, it was ell under the 20 pics allowed since it was sponsored, so I contacted site administrators to get it opened up for a grave photo. I don't know what happened to the others, but thanks for posting that!

Not a problem. Also, I just wanted to give you a heads up that I found recently that at least one member who'd added quite a few memorials to cemeteries in the area apparently decided to delete a large number of their memorials - since I wasn't keeping track of my photo count, until I was looking for a memorial that I *knew* I added a photo to, I didn't even realize they were gone.

I don't know if you're in the habit of deleting the original photos after you post them or not, but if you are, I'd recommend against it. It was a huge lesson to me that my file naming habits I'd had needed to be changed, since I think it's taking me twice the time to find out what memorials need to be recreated and what photos need to be re-added as it had originally!

Done! Please don't hesitate to ask for any others, even if it's not anywhere close to within "guidelines". You've been great to work with in the past and I have no problem transferring memorials to members like you.

I see where you added a photo, so I deleted my grass photo. I do that at cemeteries where I know they are buried, too! Like minds! :)

RE: Nicholas & William Alden
Hi, Shelley - Thank You for your message - yes, I was stunned at the heartbreak this family has gone through. I work in media and so, for anyone who might not know the details, it was pretty easy to bring up the situation re the little son...he was trying to get something from the top of a bureau and the bureau fell forward onto him, and he asphyxiated, Tragic...I hope that the family knows that total strangers feel for them and will try to help keep Nick and William's memories alive...and re the Green connection, I will hopefully be caught up in the next week or so and get back to you on the offer to trade info - I was more than happy to highlight your family member, BTW. =) Take Care and have a nice holiday/Hugs, RCP and Gannon Blue

Thank you so much for taking the time to photograph Honea Path Presbyterian. You will find that some of the contributors are transcribing the cemeteries with lists that do include the maiden name or sometimes the married name. I have learned to check for the name in the entire county using both married and maiden names to see if there are duplicates. I noticed that Harold will add a duplicate memorial giving reference to the original. The Find A Grave rules are that the original is always the correct one regardless of misspellings, wrong dates, wrong cemetery, wrong county.

William Alden
Dear Shelley, Hi, I just noticed that you added a photo of the stones for little William Alden and his father, Nicholas - Thank You. =) I noted Mr. Alden's wife added a photo of William awhile back, but I didn't want to bother her...I am not related nor friends to the family in any way; I just happened across Mr. Alden's page and went from there. Such heartbreaking circumstances...anyhow, if you do know Mrs. Alden, please send her lots of hugs and love from us on here - and please feel to get in contact with me, if I can do anything for you and yours. You're doing some really nice work on this site, and the amount of memorials don't matter, in my personal opinion - it's the love, accuracy and care that goes into the memorials, and so don't sell yourself short. =) Take Care - Hugs, RCP and Gannon Blue

RE: Grace and Ulies Cox Pic
Hi Shelly,

Thanks for the heads up about the caption. I took the photo almost a year ago, at the beginning of my grave hunting "career". I'm sorry I missed the marker. Is it the brown object to the left of Ulies' stone?

I deleted the comment about Allie not being in that section from the photos for both Ulies and Grace Cox. If that is Allie's marker next to Ulies, I'd be glad to add her name as being buried in that section.

Regards,

Lori
