RE: Anna Bershadsky
Hi Noreen,

You're welcome for the DOB. Now, I think the next step is to show Anna marrying Nathan, which happened sometime between the 1920 Census (where Nathan is shown widowed) and the 1930 Census (where they are shown married.)

The 1930 Census shows Anna coming to the US in 1921, so that would be my guess. First wife Bessie had died in Oct 1918, and in those days, a man with young kids probably wanted a wife sooner rather than later.

I submitted an edit request (now originating with Anna.)

RE: Unknown #2 in section 5
RE: Unknowns, I just feel that the cemetery should know who is buried here and where they are buried. Not sure why there are so many blanks in our records, could be understaffed, not enough guidance from authorities, unawareness of NYS and diocese requirements, who knows, but I have the helm now and if I find something wrong I'm going to fix it. It's a good rainy day project. Also we have quite a few old burials in unmarked graves, will have to get some guidance on what to do with those. - Bill

RE: Unknown #2 in section 5
Thanks, I put your unknowns as 1st priority to get identified. Working with our records in section 5 "singles" we have 16 rows of 40 graves each, have found many burials with no headstone, would like to get these folks memorialized as well. Would like to find a donor monument company that could produce a cheap sign or brick with a name on it or even the plot location data.

Today I noticed a plaque of sorts over grown by grass. Name was in script & hard to interpret, however found the plot by using the last name from the neighboring headstone. Will clean up the plaque for any more info. Owner/interred is Maniore Nardiello.

Noreen, I have worked with this plot before (2014) trying to find/notify NOK that the 2 stones have fallen off their bases. Since the headstones are the property of the family, the cemetery has to attempt to locate them of the current condition. No contact so far. This plot was purchased by Agnes G. Telkowski in 1936. Our records show 4 burials; Bronislaw Telkowski, Agala Telkowski, Louis Colyma and Agnes.

RE: st. patrick cemetery
Hi! The other family I have there is the Plunkett/Enggren section which has a big monument. I should have all those photos on Findagrave. But I also have relatives with the last name Rhodes that are together: John Rhodes, George Rhodes, Marie Woltman (sister), and I believe Patricia Woltman and Ann Glynn. I have not taken those photos yet.

In the back section is my uncle George Christ who is by himself and I have not taken this photo either.

I will contact Emily about Clemmie Mueller about transferring this record to me.

Again, thanks so much for your info.

RE: st. patrick cemetery
Hi Noreen -

Thanks so much for transferring all my relatives over to me. I'll be connecting everyone shortly.

I'm curious now about who doesn't have a headstone in the Mueller plot. Austin's wife died in 2013 so it's possible it could be her. I live about 30 minutes from the cemetery and I want to go over there soon to take photos of other family members that I forget to get so I will go to the Mueller plot and see who is there and who seems to be missing.

Both my grandmother and grandfather's family members are buried in St. Patrick's so I have been there many times and have posted some of the headstones already in Findagrave and now want to finish getting everyone posted.

Again thanks for your help.

RE: Jeannette Arachtingi
Hi! Yes that would be great if you could transfer them over to me. Jeannette is my grandmother and Austin is her brother, my great uncle. Any Arachtingi graves in St Patrick in Bay Shore are my family.

Hi, Thanks for the explanations on the declines. I did some further research on the mother and found the right one buried in California with her second husband. I mixed up the obits by not paying more attention to dates so glad you caught that! Anyway the mother's number is #139336657. Again thanks for correcting me. Still haven't found where my Mary fits in, but love solving puzzles! Penny

Hello Noreen,
You recently added an obituary to memorial # 39536597 (Edward Moore, in Babylon Rural Cemetery). He is my 2nd great grandfather, and I wanted to thank you for sharing this! It's nice to see, and it was also a great help for me to confirm some other family connections. Are you related, or just sharing good deeds??? Thanks again for doing this!! -Jeff Fisher

RE: Laura Kellum
Thanks for the offer to transfer Laura Kellum but I'm not related to her. I got side-tract while researching others in my home town of Huntington. The Kellum family was well known there and had a street in my neighborhood which was named in their honor.

Thanks, Noreen. I live in Virginia. I've visited Oakwood once but didn't understand the Smith family connection then. Dwight

Esther Hetty Smith Ketcham
I am trying to determine if you might be able to help me determine the burial location for Esther Hetty Ketcham, my 3rd great grandmother. I have reason to believe she is not buried with her husband Nathaniel A. Ketcham in the Ketcham Cemetery in Meville. I wonder if there was a possibility Hetty might have been buried at Oakwood close to her parents and some siblings. I know some of my other Ketcham relatives are buried at Oakwood. You also may wish to check the recently updated Find-A-Grave for Hetty's son, Nathaniel Alexander Ketcham. It seems most thought he was buried in Melville but it has been confirmed he is buried in Green-wood along with his wife Mary Eliza Ketcham. Any help you could provide would be appreciated if we can make contact.

RE: Willard Washington "Bill" Watson
Well thank you so much for posting him to find-a-grave. We had been searching for him for quite some time, but do to circumstances beyond our control, we weren't allowed to talk to him, nor locate him.

Now my husband has the sad duty to deliver the news to Willard's sister, my husband's mother, who is now 88 years of age, that her beloved brother has passed. Also to tell Willard's other living siblings.

If it weren't for you, we would had never known of his passing.

Many thanks and may God richly bless you.

Not related I grew up next door to Rena and her husband James Maher and knew them as Aunt and Uncle. If you want to transfer her if not no problem.
