I'm going to try to get back out there within the next week to try and get a better picture. Just my luck that right before I found it a bunch of storm clouds rolled in. I did however meet the guy that owns a bunch of land there. He said there's also a huge Terry(slaves) cemetery on his property. When I go back I'll try to get some pictures of that as well as the only two buildings the Terry's built that are still standing.

RE: Transfer
I forgot which Floyd we were talking about. I am working on several at this time. If we are talking about Floyd Shinavier, My father's mother was a Shinavier and he is in our line.

RE: Old Purity Cemetery in Chester SC
Sorry for the delay in answering - Daddy passed away and I am staying with Mom with no internet. I am not related to anyone in Old Purity - it is about a mile from my house so I have spent a lot of time reading the old epitaphs.

a few of the last names I remember off hand are Dubay, Dehate, Hibbert, Forton-all these last names come from Charbonneau and most of these are buried @ St peter's.

Dehate-Charbonneau collection

I saw your post to Gail about the charbonneau collection and the DeHate's. My husband is descended from the dehate line, which does come from charbonneau. I am not sure which dehate you are from, but I did research in that book a few years ago @ the library.

If you like, I can see if the Dehate you are searching for is in my notes from the charbonneau book, you might be distantly related to my husband, as I found someone in pennslvania through a photo request on Find A Grave who is distantly related to him via that charbonneau line.

The charbonneau line branches into MANY last names, but I will see in my notes if you want me to. (My husband comes Nelson Dehate)

RE: Caldwells in Chester SC
There is more than one Caldwell family lines in the Chester/Fairfield County area. I do not recognize the Caldwell you asked about. I suggest you research the Joseph Caldwell / Catherine Elder line starting down in Fairfield County, SC. I did some work on this line.

Yes, there are many Pattersons. My maternal 2nd great grandmother was Elizabeth D. Patterson, daughter of Abram Patterson and Margaret Colwell. How may I help you?

Mount Clemens Public Library
The library has volunteers, but not covering all of the time the library is open. You can look on the website, click on Genealogy, to see how you can get help by mail. Or if you can come in it would be good to arrange an appointment so someone can be there to help you.

We just received the Hubbard funeral home records covering 1902 to 1972 in 18 books a couple of weeks ago. Each book has 600 entries, we're indexing them now.

RE: DeHate @ St. Peter's in Mt. Clemens
The Mt. Clemens Genealogy Dept. is staffed by Volunteers in shifts during all hours of operation. The room is locked & they let us in so the records don't disappear.

RE: DeHate @ St. Peter's in Mt. Clemens
Sounds like you are on the right track with a great plan. I see on your DeHate profile that Hubbard was the funeral home so you are in luck !
I would do as much as you can over the phone with Mt. Clemens Library genealogy. I've had great success in Penn. over the phone. Also, I've reviewed Catholic & Lutheran Church records & books for non-family members so the privacy issue is not really true, especially for old records over 50-100 yrs. old. That is just an excuse. Yes, the caretaker at Saint Peters is very accommodating & pleasant & helpful.

RE: DeHate
Being that St. Peter's is a Catholic Cemetery, Louis would be buried only with his first wife. The 2nd wife would probably be buried in her parents family plot by her maiden name.

RE: DeHate @ St. Peter's in Mt. Clemens
I have a great lead for you. The Mt. Clemens Library genealogy dept.

has all the old funeral home records including Hubbard Funeral Home. They also have a Manual for each cemetery with many of the burials. They have wonderful volunteers who can assist you by phone. The St. Peter's Cemetery also has the old Log book on location and computer records. It is staffed by one person who is also the maintenance man & caretaker. He doesn't have regular hours so he is not always there when I visit or is working on cutting the grass or preparing for a burial. So, yes calling by phone is the best. I'm wondering if St. Peter's has the old baptism & marriage records ? If not, ALL Catholic Churches send their records to the archdiocese even if the church no longer exists - but in this case, St. Peter's is still in operation & very beautiful with a hugh congregation.

Your Welcome
Yes, I am sorry they are not better photo's. I forgot to take my clippers with me...I cleaned it out best I could by hand. But I was planning on running back over there and will clean the grass better for you and take new pictures.

RE: Guerin/DeHate/Field photos
You are welcome. While I was looking for the DeHates and saw the Guerins, so snagged them too. recognized the name from when I checked the computer before I left the house. Sorry Joseph's didn't turn out as well. When loading pics, I noticed he didn't have a DOB. Looks like oct 11, 1895 - feb 28, 1967 to me.

Re: Pattersons @ North Side in Lumpkin
I am only distantly connected to the Patterson's, no direct relation. I don't mind transferring them. Just let me know specifically which memorials. Thanks, Heather Clark

I don't specifically remember adding Mrs. Binns, but I'm sure the funeral home didn't contact me. The obit appeared in the Columbus Ledger from Dec 7 to Dec 9, here: The memorial was created on the 7th.
